This will bankrupt the company. They will have to split the insurance payment. Judge will decide how it is split up.

You have to respect the machinery. Bryant didn’t.

I have heard more than enough about Kobe; the man who played with balls.

Kobe, Kobe, Kobe.

Yeah, it’s too bad he died, but haven’t we heard enough about him already.

Regularly the obvious target for a suit might be the massive estate of the host who invited them to join him.

But not everybody is wired that way and to sue this family would make one Public Enemy #1—a substantial cost for some coin.

Amazing, they know just what happened to cause this mishap. . . No need to wait for the final NTSB report.

Maybe lawsuit is just to get on record the helicopter company negligent.
Shift the blame and prevent suing Kobe’s estate?
Kobe’s estate is where the big money is.
Vanessa obviously has advisors protecting her & family.
Other people lost their lives in that crash and grief does cause people to think differently..Kobe invited those people, I bet they’ll sue.

Until the NTSB completes its crash investigation, any liability litigation is nothing but a search for deep pockets.

If I was in Vanessa’s shoes and was set for life, I would not sue the pilot’s estate, probably ruining his family financially. They are grieving and lost their bread winner too, unfortunately, and probably aren’t financially secure like the Bryant family is.

This will be interesting. The pilot is described as “Bryant’s long time pilot”. Assuming Bryant would routinely request this guy Zobayan it’ll probably boil down to percentage of liability. Since the NTSB is saying no engine or mechanical issues, it’s purely pilot error.

I’m surprised Kobe isn’t being sued, wasn’t it his copter?
