LOS ANGELES -- Vanessa Bryant is suing the company involved in the helicopter crash that killed Kobe and Gianna Bryant last month.
Kobe and Gianna were among 9 people killed in the crash.
The wrongful death claim was submitted Monday morning, the day of the public memorial service for Kobe and Gianna.
In the 72-page claim, Bryant's attorney alleges Ara Zobayan "failed to properly monitor and assess the weather prior to takeoff."''
The lawsuit also alleges "he failed to obtain proper weather data" prior to the flight.
The claim also names Zobayan's estate as a defendant.
In a statement, Island Express said:
"This was a tragic accident. We will have no comment on the pending litigation."
This will bankrupt the company. They will have to split the insurance payment. Judge will decide how it is split up.
She doesn’t have enough money already?
He didn’t have life insurance on top of that

You have to respect the machinery. Bryant didn’t.

I have heard more than enough about Kobe; the man who played with balls.
Kobe, Kobe, Kobe.
Yeah, it’s too bad he died, but haven’t we heard enough about him already.

NTSB will come out with a report eventually. The report could state that there was some problem with the helicopter...Then Vanessa Bryant might want to file a product liability lawsuit...
Regularly the obvious target for a suit might be the massive estate of the host who invited them to join him.
But not everybody is wired that way and to sue this family would make one Public Enemy #1—a substantial cost for some coin.
I developed a phobia about helicopters in the Marine Corps. They kept kicking me out in the middle of nowhere and making me walk home.
Yes. She has money and probably life insurance. But the company was negligent big time!!!!!
Id rather jump into a hot LZ than have to stay on the chopper any day.

Maybe the company will decide to go to trial?
Maybe not...Who knows how the jury will decide?

Suing Kobe’s estate...I don’t know about that. It may not be a popular move at all.
As soon as I get my copy of the NTSB Reporter I’ll post it.
Insurance payout should be per occurrence.
The only unusual thing about this case is the high profile of two of the deceased.
If I were on that jury I'd sure wonder why that pilot thought it was safe to fly in those conditions.
Personally I think the pilot had a medical emergency.....He was 100 ft..from breaking into the clear above the clouds.
Amazing, they know just what happened to cause this mishap. . . No need to wait for the final NTSB report.
