One reason I think this bug is manmade.
Haven’t decided if it was a genuine bioweapon, a stepping stone to a real bioweapon, or someone’s ‘pet’ microbe that got out accidentally.
Ive seen that about 1000 times on Twitter today. Ugh
China has shut down entire port cities.
Indefinitely.
Do you think doing that conveys ‘actual risk’ to the market and supply chain?
Yes or no.
And yet, this administration has said nothing to refute this.
Nothing at all.
It’s like they’re being held hostage by rosenstein’s sister.
“China has shut down entire port cities.”
I guess it is a false rumor China has it under control then. When was this announce?
Gonna do it...
That chart doesn’t show an exponential spread of covid infections.
It shows an exponential *discovery* of covid infections.
Once one starts looking for it(which the CDC won’t do) many cases are discovered quickly.
Lot of covid assumptions are based on covid discovery systems.
Which is not helpful.
Hear, hear!
I really don’t understand the influx of people here who seem invested in the anti prepper mindset. I think it is always good to rely on ourselves to take care of us & our families.
I think it is a fiscally conservative value to buy things which we will use on sale, try to stay healthy and avoid unwanted medical expenses or a debilitating disease.
I appreciate the sharing of info by the thoughtful, people of good will on these threads.
A USFK soldier stationed at Camp Carroll tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first time a U.S. service member has tested positive for the virus. Were implementing all appropriate control measures to protect the force.
Same thing by John Hopkins center, minus the ads and crap
You get the virus! You get the virus! You get the virus!
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday.
He has a job. Hes not out frolicking
This late in the game, if people still refuse to take even minimal precautions against this disease (as simple as avoiding crowds, practicing good personal hygiene, stocking up on extra food, medicine, necessities, etc) they are irrational and delusional. And, it’s kind of pointless to try to talk reason with the irrational and delusional. They’re just going to have to learn the hard way...
I read that it was a training video
True. These numbers explode as all the contacts get tested then they get less drastic. Singapore is a more realistic curve, because they have have had good surveillance from the beginning.
In the international news. If you pay attention.
if you’re waiting for fox or cnn to tell you you’ll never hear it.
Read about the shipper who has or is fixing to declare force majeur on their entire container stock sitting on the dock in china.
etc.
the news is out there, in 1 or 2 line blurbs in industry or niche articles.
And then there’s stuff like this:

anecdotally, I tried to buy a cell phone. I don’t do smart phones. It’s been easy to get some sort of flip phone before. find the one I want, order it, get it in, etc. This past weekend I had to go through 5 different choices before I found one that was in stock. The others were out of stock no idea when they’d be in stock again. 2 of those out of stock choices had BEEN in stock the week before. I have no idea bout the other 3 because I never had to use a second choice before even though I always had one just in case.
car parts, pretty much anything from P&G apparently too not to mention antibiotics, OTC meds, prescription meds, masks, etc..
I don't get it either. Clearly every other country that has dealt with this has taken very extreme measures including cutting off entire cities and banning people from leaving their residences.
How is it promoting "panic" to expect that the same thing might happen here? Three or four months of food, water and toilet paper is not a nutty idea.
And it’s true in all nations.
My view is to ignore the first week to ten days of reported cases and then pay attention to the numbers.
After that, if they trend down it’s good news.
If not...
Urg.
I hope if we have antivirals we use them on the grunts and not some overpaid corrupt bureaucrat in DC and their loser heroin addict kids.
“50,000 have already died in China if you believe the insider reports.”
Why do you post that GARBAGE here? It’s at least 100,000 by now in China, based on several analyses of what’s actually going on in Wuhan. So, please, be more careful here.
