You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
A BUDGET TELLS US WHAT WE CANT AFFORD, BUT IT DOESNT KEEP US FROM BUYING IT. WILLIAM FEATHER
Oh Boy, here we go. I have a feeling this quote is going to initiate a lot from you guys today....
You must be talkin ta me, cause I don’t see no one else in da joint.
Magnum44, cartan, Jonah Hex and the other usual suspects are lurking about....
Did a lot of aimless guessing until I suddenly recognized the author.
The two contractions make it real easy.
AKUAOK, then GTK.
Oddly enough, once I identified the word “THE” I figured out the name, and from there it all fell in. I say oddly just because usually for me, the name is not one of the first things I figure out.
Worked it the same way.

"You're telling me."
It Had one of your favorite words in there too
AKUAOK
AKUAOK, then GTK.Right, I should have noticed that more quickly.
Three minutes...figured out the contraction, that gave me the name, all downhill from there. Did this nut become a muslim or something?
Two contractions with differs endings...easy.
4 min, while the legendary Mrs. Whiskers drove...bouncing cars make it hard to hit the keys on the phone.
Strange quotation by a stranger author.
