My cat plays fetch. My dog ignores me. I think I have some messed up animals

One of my dogs (Cavvies) chases lights like a cat. He's insane.

Best dog ever, however cat-like he may be as a light-chaser.

13. Dog people and cat people have a different favorite Beatle.

Dog lovers prefer Paul McCartney; cat people prefer George Harrison.

That about sums it up for me.

They pretty much said that those who like both, really have the minds of Dog people and just tolerate their cat.

Furthermore, they said Dog people are indifferent to cats, but Cat people actually hate dogs.

I self censored what else I was thinking about to say.

I’m in the process of socializing a feral tomcat. I bring out food every morning, and he now comes over to get pats and brush against my leg. We’re moving in the next few months, and I want to take this cat along. I know there’s only going to be one chance to catch him.

What I would do:
1) get a trap cage from the animal shelter. Or if you have the money, buy one.
2) it is how we trapped ours in the very beginning. Just to get her spayed. I am still amazed we did that.
3) if you can catch him, & I pray that you can, I would IMMEDIATELY take him to a vet for neutering. I mean as soon as he’s trapped. They will probably have to give him a calming pill. I would arrange with the vet ahead of time. Explain that he’s a feral. Neutering will also help calm him.
4) you will want to bring him home & never let him out of the house.
5) to welcome him to the house I would have a dog carrier that is roomy. Fill it w/ soft blanket & a bowl of crunchy food at the back of the carrier. You want him to be vomfy, unafraid, & know that the carrier is his safe home. It will ALSO make it easy to lock him in when it’s time to move. He’s used to it. Cats are very wary, so I would do this asap.

Good luck & let me know how it goes. By the way he is loving w/ you & that’s a great start!

Dogs view cats as a pillow.

Oh yeah, he’ll go to the vet for neutering and a complete checkup and shots, first thing. It may be a bit tricky introducing him to the other three cats (all females), but I’m hoping that the general upheaval of moving will help there.

Once we get him home. we intend that he’ll be an indoor cat like all the rest, including a former feral (sitting on my shoulder as I type) who now doesn’t even want to go out. We brought her in at about 4 weeks, though, and this tom is about 3 years old now. Have to see how it goes.

No outdoor cats for us. This is coyote country.

Like the Bowie theme song from the movie.

It was also used in “Inglourious Basterds” as well.

I'm not sure what it all means, if anything.

I'm sure it means something..but I'd guess more women are going to pick a cat like name...than men.

And most men..prolly won't have a FReeper name mentioning Dogs.

I love dogs...have two BC's laying at my feet right now...And had two dogs in the year 2000 too....A BC,,and a GS,,,

No mention of that in my FReeper name...

His music was so perfect for that movie. Nastajia Kinski was absolutely beautiful.

Sorry I rambled on. Our now very tame feral is across from me in “her” chair. I am so glad those of us who love cats can rescue the wild ones.

The event that caused my husband’s heart & my heart to fill......one evening early on in her indoor life I had to go into the bedroom. I flicked on the light & thd.

To a dog, you’re family. To a cat, you’re staff (Ken Davis)

I’ve had them both and like them both. Cats are generally lower maintenance so if I had a pet now it would probably be a cat. But dogs are definitely more fun to be around.

Me = a dog and cat person. I have two cats and three dogs. We all get along. Oddly the dogs that could kill the cats in an instant puts up with abuse from the cats.

You have a cat
A 2014 study of 600 college students found that individuals who identified as “dog people” were more outgoing than those who identified as “cat people,” according to a test that measures personality and intelligence.

17 signs you’re intelligent — even if doesn’t feel like it
