I saw that yesterday and agree but tptb worry more about the global economy or how it might hurt their polling numbers in an election year. I hope a sane person has a chat with Trump so he can set some fires under some people’s asses, like Rod Ros’s sister.
"To put this into perspective, these actions by the presidents of Lombardy, Piedmont, Emilia Romagna, and the Veneto are the equivalent of about 15 US states shutting down their schools, universities, and all public and private events. Contrary to what some people seem to imagine, this isn't bad news and it doesn't mean that things are worse in Italy than elsewhere, but rather, demonstrates the willingness of the Italian regional governments to put the interests of the Italian people ahead of the global economy."

Agreed, he needs a medical/epidemiologist expert, not a bureaucrat, as his right hand man. There are a lot of good choices: Dr. Gottlieb, Dr. Osterholm (Director of CIDRAP). There are many very competent people like the, like this who are online, sounding the alarm and educating, as well as testifying before the senate task force.
Sadly, it appears the task force is not following the advice of any of these experts.

Funny how other countries can close their borders, but not us....
Spread of #coronavirus in South Korea appears to be becoming epidemic. Another grim turn in sinister virus. South Korea reports today 169 new cases for a total of 602 and 2 more have died for a total of 5 fatalities. They have tested +26,000 so far and have 8,000 tests pending
Sorry, not gonna play out like that.
