The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have posted an extraordinary statement on their website claiming that the Queen does not own the word royal across the world after they were forced to drop their 'Sussex Royal' brand.
Harry and Meghan put a new statement on their own website hours after announcing they would stop using the word 'royal' in their branding after the Spring.
The statement said that while neither the government nor the Queen herself own the word 'royal' internationally, they would stop using the title.
The statement read: 'While there is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word "Royal" overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use "Sussex Royal" or any iteration of the word "Royal" in any territory (either within the UK or otherwise) when the transition occurs Spring 2020.'
They also appeared to complain that the palace is treating them differently to other family members.
The statement continued: 'While there is precedent for other titled members of the Royal Family to seek employment outside of the institution, for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a 12-month review period has been put in place.
'Per the agreement The Duke and Duchess of Sussex understand that they are required to step back from Royal duties and not undertake representative duties on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.'
A spokesman for the couple first issued a statement to the media about their use of royal titles shortly after 7.30pm on Friday but around 10pm they shared a much longer statement on their website via their Instagram story.

I completely agree. Princess Kate Has been a boon to the Royal Family as much as Megan has been their bane.
I'd rather he went with "She's Gone" by Hall and Oates.
Watching “The Crown” to draw conclusions about the British monarchy is like watching “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” to learn about Christianity.
“The Crown” is fiction loosely based on some people whom the actors vaguely resemble.
I think that as long as Sparkles and Harry remain married, the Queen can't take the HRH away from one and not the other. The Crown wants to leave the door open for Harry to return and resume his position in case Mrz Thing drops him like she dropped her ex and her father. If Harry renounces his title, he would have to bow to his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew, and presumably to Kate and William and their children.
One of the things that cheesed Meghan off was having to curtsy to Kate, Beatrice and Eugenie. Even Kate has to curtsy to Bea and Eugenie, since they are blood princesses and she is not. So you can imagine how final the break would be if their titles were stripped and Meghan would have to curtsy to people she believes are not nearly as woke as she is, if they came back to UK even to visit.
As it was, she was trying to elbow in front of Kate on the balcony where the Royal family gathers to wave to the people at official events and got chastised for it. Many of Meghan's fans posting on Daily Mail seem to believe that Harry is next after Charles if people want him more than William, or that becoming the Sovereign is a popularity competition or electoral contest. One post I saw this morning opined that William and Kate should "realize" that people want Meghan and Harry more than William and Kate; ergo Meghan should be the next Queen.
Not all the idiots posting this type of drivel are Americans, either; some are from UK. As with today's American youth, apparently UK youth don't know their own history and Order of Succession, which at present is Charles, then his son William, then William's children George, Charlotte and Louis, and then Harry in the highly unlikely event that William and all three of William's children predecease Harryunless time has passed and William's children have children of their own, which would put them ahead of Harry even if they are minors (a Regent would be appointed until the heir is of age).
In other words, never gonna be king except in the event of a regicide against the entire family. The danger of which I am not discounting. This entire situation is very dangerous for world security, since the Obamas, Oprah and the globalists behind them are "handling" Woke and Joke.
Boy, are they whinny.
No, it's because she was too lazy to study the British system and therefore too slow to realize that Harry's status is only 6th in line to the throne behind Charles, William, George, Charlotte and Louis. MeAgain was all elbows and side-eye trying to compete with Kate in a battle she never can win, because she is completely outranked by William and Kate and their three children. The rules of the Royal Family are not American.
LOL!!!
But Diana could have afforded her own. And she chose not to wear a seat belt.
Boyfriend Dodi was providing security.
I think ‘their’ website has only one voice. I can’t imagine Harry speaking this way to his grandmother, much less a Monarch. In another world, Wills would have knocked him one.
would Harry require a domestic servant work visa to live in LA??
the, ‘we’re being treated differently’ part
he’ll only be 6th until about 14 or 15 years from now when HRH Prince George marries, followed by his sister, Charlotte. And Harry will fade into minor royal wallpaper status.
thank you I had missed it.
Is LA a sanctuary city?
Ha ha!
Or a royal family potrait on a rainy day.
My husband believes there is a law in the UK requiring any foundation, etc, to disperse 85% of the donations received, to be able to call itself a charitable organization. Does anyone know if there is a similar law in this country?
And PS-Non-profits can do anything they want with their donations and long as it is all spent. Does this sound likely? It sure sounds like something that Me-again would have her grubby little paws involved in.
