John Krasinski is pushing back on criticism that his selection of specific military and government characters is somehow his way of playing red state heroes -- as some have speculated, according to Esquire -- without dipping his toes in anything political.
The former Office star, who has played a former Navy SEAL-turned-private military contractor working in Benghazi in Michael Bays 2016 film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, opened up to the outlet about his decision to act in projects that celebrate the military and said his connection to these types of roles is genuine and not a ploy to curry favor with conservative values.

I agree. Krasinski does a good job acting, but his looks are all wrong for the part of John Ryan. The character needs to be more handsome, to be blunt. I guess his wife finds many other redeeming qualities in her hubby. I'm sure there are many.
He was the worst character on “The Office”. Aggressively unfunny. How does anybody find this drip convincing as a tough guy?
That silent monster movie he made was a colossal borefest too.

Kind of ironic that even the most leftist of actors understand that characters that act like conservative and use guns are the ones that sell the tickets - even to their own side of the aisle - the question is, who do their fans really worship - them or their characters....
