...The other day when you gave that award to Rush Limbaugh, my father would have been so delighted, she wrote. He loved listening to Rush, which is why I allowed my song, My City Was Gone, to be used on his radio show. My father and I didnt always see eye-to-eye. We argued a lot but isnt that the American way? The right to disagree without having your head chopped off?...

Sadly the guys on the left and the right both died of drug overdoses.
Maybe she’s “Middle of the Road” afterall.
In my experience, artists can be very good at their specialties, and very stupid at other stuff - sometimes, MOST other stuff.
If they sometimes make a good move, for very human reasons, we should applaud that.
But was a Shure or an Empire stylus?
Easy. We don't want to restart any civil wars here...
Wait, doesn’t matter what she thought. He paid for usage, she has no say.
Why is everyone saying that her mother listened to Rush? I believe the article clearly says it was her father. Am I wrong?
I realize that the article is talking about her father. But those of use who remember the time of the original story remember that she stated that it was her mother who listened to Rush.
It is just me, or does Chrissy Hynde look like Melania Trump?
I don't know Chrissy Hynde, but just because a drug and alcohol-addicted rock star might have had no clue 21 years ago does not mean she still has no clue today. She is 68 and sober now, and her letter to President Trump shows more thoughtfulness and maturity than the decades-old grudge you still harbor against someone whom you have frozen in time. People grow up; people change. Trump was once a Democrat, Reagan a socialist union leader, Paul a cruel persecutor, and King David a murderous adulterer. Hynde's letter is a lesson to fellow Americans on how to regard people with whom we disagree.
It’s just you.
Yep those 2 and the greatest hits had little
to no filler
People grow up.
Maybe they both did.
OOPS! I Meant to say
“I loved her song, https://youtu.be/FoZKgyM98aM
Ill Stand By You
I dont think much of her (POLITICS) though.”
Guilty. I didnt know she said that. All
She’s making a public play to Trump’s ego to get Assange out of trouble. there’s a lot of evidence out there that when celebrities play to his ego, he appears more sympathetic to the point of view they are advocating. Whether it’s sincere or pandering to get a desired outcome doesn’t really matter, that’s exactly what she’s doing.
She found out how much her royalties were too.
She can object all she wants, but the blanket license allows anyone to play her songs. She makes money off of each play but cannot discriminate who can play it.
Just ask Mick Jagger about Trump’s use of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”
