That’s quite incredible to read. I could never imagine a city like New York being quarantined let alone half a country.
Just on the face of what they are doing it is either the biggest social experiment in history or we are not being told the truth regarding the threat.

I know, one in a while someone will say: “BobL, you were right”. I (jokingly) tell them that they’re violating the terms of service with their ISP, in admitting a mistake.
But the vast majority of people, here and elsewhere, simply IGNORE being told they were wrong...or make fools of themselves by constantly repeating wrong or meaningless information (...it’s just a common cold, etc.).

That isn’t even a blip, given the rates of morbid obesity. Now I’m not arguing it wouldn’t be very uncomfortable, but now that isn’t the same thing.
The world record for fasting is over a year, and the guy lost several hundred pounds. Fat runs about 3,500 calories a pound, so lots of people are carrying around months and months worth of extra energy/groceries.
I’m glad you took the time to read it and comment. For anyone reading this thread, the 760 million Chinese currently under quarantine is 2.4 x the population if the United States. We aren’t dealing with the flu, this is a previously unknown virus that is spreading. I haven’t read every post on every coronavirus thread but it’s remarkable how many ‘experts’ we have on this unknown threat. Maybe when our economy begins to quiver in a few weeks some might see the enormity of this outbreak. But then again, maybe not :)
