The book was released this Presidents' Day weekend, coinciding with the broadcast of the History Channel's new three-part series 'Washington', on which Coe was also a consulting producer.

Funny that the left has no problem throwing Ron Chernow under the bus - he of the best recognized biography of Washington... a worts-and-all portrayal of George Washington that includes a young teenager surveying the wilderness... that includes an impressive tall man and master horseman... that also includes a general who held a virtual rabble army together with strategic maneuvers unrivaled by even Napoleon, Lee, Jackson or Patton.
It’s not Jewish people who are the problem, but rather atheists who claim Jewishness as an ethnicity. They’re historically likely to be at the forefront of any effort to destroy western democracies. Why that is, I can’t really say. But, leave the observant Jews out of it, they’re largely on our side.
I looked up Sally Hemings. She was an octoroon, (one eighth black) and paintings of her depicts Sally as a beautiful woman who, in our times, a white man of taste would be proud to have on his arm.
There’s also the question of which one of the Jefferson brothers fathered the black Jefferson line.
As for Washington’s dentures, he had lost all his natural teeth by age 30. He had several dentures made by different dentists, but only the one made with hippopotamus ivory allowed him to chew comfortably.

I’d rather remember the GW I learned about in history classes in high school. Oh. That’s right. American history isn’t taught any more. No wonder the “author” got money. Fifteen minutes is more than her share of fame.

I fully expect the PCers to go hard after Thomas Jefferson next - far more than they have to date.
The so-called “History” channel is a joke. It has been for years. They present hopelessly distorted versions of history dumbed down to the level of a 5th grader.
pBS aims for an audience that is educated beyond the 5th grade level but the “history” they present has a hopelessly PC Revisionist slant.
It’s very telling that both will not allow different views of historical events to be presented. They seek to indoctrinate rather than educate. Sadly, this makes them no different from the history departments at most universities which preach the currently fashionable PC Revisionist view of American history.
History Channel when it started out was pretty good, the last few years it has changed and your right it is a Joke.
It is filled with third hand innuendo, complaints by his political opponents, and other sorts of frauds told by historians as “facts”.
The BIG news that a 22 year Washington may have started the French and Indian War is not news. This is well known and a big so what? The rest shows he was a bad guy by our standards today but a man of his times regarding slaves. Lost more battles than he won? He was THE glue that held the Continental Army and Militia together and saved the Revolution over and over. Indians who respected him and our revolution walked hundreds of miles to give him and his/our army food at Valley Forge. This is a typical liberal crap.

Isn’t that like buying a horse to plow and beating it till it can’t work,logic not in use.
So far as I know, Washington freed his slaves when he died, but did not have, or feel he had, the right to free his wife’s slaves for her or HER heirs.
It was included in the film “Lincoln.” Daniel Day Lewis told it during the film.
He was also in Dumb and Dumber and even worse, the Sequel.
