You still miss the point.

What happens to the Ford and GM plants when there are no parts....from China.

What happens when 54% of the meds used in hospitals stop...from China.

What happens when the shale oil fields shut down because of the oil glut...because China.

What happens when lumber from Canada and Alaska stops being shipped because...China is not working.

What happens to the pilots and maintenance folks who don’t work because the flights stopped?

Is it starting to sink in?

This isn’t about getting sick.

I hope,so, but if that’s the case you would have thought she’d clarify rather than block him. It’s just curious.

If its seasonal, then warmer weather should see a decline in the frequency and severity of new cases.

Right now we don’t know if that’s the case.

Dude, I just start the thread.

Do you think I am picking numbers to make it sound more dire? That is rich.

Most of the Chinese economy are small businesses and the people who work for them.

A domino effect would begin there which the Chinese government is desperate to avert.

Right now in Wuhan, the crematoriums are trying to hire drivers to pick up bodies. Shift runs 12-4 AM, pays $143/hr. Yes, US dollars $143/hr. That’s over 1000 RMB per hour, or more than the average monthly wage PER SHIFT.

Our reliance on China will need to change immediately.

If I were younger, I’d go back into manufacturing here. I wish I knew how to make medical supplies.

Try processing food, pumping water, and keeping the lights on without parts.

My grandpa was a bastard, but he was a very paranoid man. He would never sell all his corn to the elevator, because he knew the elevator might blow up.

JIT works great. Till it doesn’t. A legion of MBA’s and Lean consultants are looking at their Black Swan.

Sorry if this was posted previously, I didn’t see it:

Exclusive: Chinese doctors say Wuhan coronavirus reinfection even deadlier
Instead of creating immunity the virus can reportedly reinfect an individual and hasten fatal heart attack
...
According to the message forwarded to Taiwan News, “It’s highly possible to get infected a second time. A few people recovered from the first time by their own immune system, but the meds they use are damaging their heart tissue, and when they get it the second time, the antibody doesn’t help but makes it worse, and they die a sudden death from heart failure.”

Yes, we have tons of empty factories all over the America’s. Oh wait...we need machines. Lol.

It will be interesting to hear how phase I is working for us now. Who is gonna eat all those soybeans. I guess we can make biofuel to roll trucks full of nothing.

We are a big connected world.

If its seasonal, then warmer weather should see a decline in the frequency and severity of new cases.

Apparently the fact that it's spread to hot, humid Singapore has escaped your notice.

Or you're simply afraid to see facts that conflict with your preconceived conclusions.

Or you're just afraid.

A pandemic as I understand it has to be on multiple continents.

“Can a market economy cope with the stress of a serious disease threat? We’re about to find out.”

I was thinking about the closest analogy. For me it’s the disruption of WW2. It happened both on the human level, with millions of Americans being pulled out of the workforce, and on the material level, with huge resource diversions, creating shortages of everything (and nearly bringing the country to its knees, due to lack of rubber).

So, to answer your question: We couldn’t. We needed a wartime big-brother to provide for distribution of consumer resources along with rationing. Thankfully, it all went away...then.

Reportedly. Don’t know of drugs that trigger systemic lupus.

The syndrome itself can be suppressed with anti inflammatory drugs.

Your threads are great, thanks for doing it.

Singapore worries me - a lot.

I’m not an investor, and worldwide spread of this virus is my greatest worry. But I believe the China thing is OVER, and over for a very long time, and I’m surprised that people don’t understand.

Amazing, isn’t it?

Thread after thread....guess they like trolling.

“A pandemic as I understand it has to be on multiple continents.”

I guess Antarctica hasn’t been hit yet, but it is summer there, so there are thousands working there now, including many from China. Most likely, they’ll have a case or two pop up.

That’ll get you some replies LOL!

Yeah, another couple of good weeks outside China and I’d say it was no big deal.
It’ll just be another flu stain to worry about.

I don’t draw any concluoions from China though.
