*shrug* Playing with the numbers amuses me.

Besides, if you torture the data enough, it will confess...

Moderator Paul Jensen, PhD, PE, CIH, of the CDC, says: “I generally use two N95 or FFP2 respirators (with exhaust valves) per week. I use one in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I wrap each one in a paper towel and allow them to dry over night.

With this virus living for weeks, how is it that overnight in a paper towel gets them healthy? Never mind him moving the mask in the air as he's taking it off and sending virus particles flying. By the time he's wrapped the mask up and then opened it, one would imagine there are particles on the face side of it.

From WHO’s website:

What is a pandemic?

24 February 2010

A pandemic is the worldwide spread of a new disease.

An influenza pandemic occurs when a new influenza virus emerges and spreads around the world, and most people do not have immunity. Viruses that have caused past pandemics typically originated from animal influenza viruses.

The CDC has a similar definition, only their definition refers to influenza:

What they’re doing is begging to catch it. Look at every one of them hanging onto that handrail and crowded within that 6 foot my space of each other.

Why would anyone bring in that possibly contaminated coat and shoes? They’ve said it lives on dry surfaces for days and weeks. I’m leaving mine not only outside but around the corner of the house so the wind doesn’t blow it toward the door.

Whaaa! She wants to go party all night on her parents’ money and meet new friends at the college cafeteria salad bar to share the common serving spoons. The college should have told her she was being placed in a safe space to spare her from the horrors of pop tests.

The Possible Origins of 2019-nCoV coronavirus

Preprint was posted yesterday, attributed to Botao Xiao, since has vanished without a trace. Popped up right away in Google search until a little while ago, but the search links were dead. Now, it's nowhere - except, of course, the Wayback Machine.

Now, Botao Xiao is a real person, a molecular virologist whose lab was in Wuhan until 2017 when he stepped up to Guangzhou.

I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the paper. It may have been scrubbed because it is a fake. The alternative explanation of the scrubbing, however, is very concerning, so I'm posting it wit this disclaimer.

Believe at your own risk.

Have y’all thought what to do if you have to self isolate someone in your homes? Is there a bedroom and bathroom that can be blocked off for them? If not, then what about the rest of the family?

Will you forgo comfort and turn off the heat/cooling so it doesn’t fly through the vents? What about around the door?

What to do about that person’s hygiene and laundry?

How will you pass them food? How will they dispose of their dirty dishes (hopefully, you have paper plates and such) and rotting food scraps?

Many people don’t know their neighbors so how would they know to report them?

If I heard of someone in my apartment complex (I don’t in one) being quarantined, I’d be moving out faster than you could say flu.

It’s gone from one person is let out every other day to once every three days.

They wouldn’t have to do that if they had prepped. Yeah, yeah their homes are smaller than ours but I could find room in a 9x6 jail cell for a month’s worth.

If we have the test kits.

The issue with testing in China has been people will go three or four tests—all negative and the fifth one is positive and the patient has been wandering around shedding virus like its their job.

Even the Chinese have switched to a first CT Scan of the lungs to see if there is “broken glass” syndrome. This is a major indicator and the CT Scan is immediate.

It doesn’t look like too safe a neighborhood. There are bars on the first and second floors that were put there by owners. Don’t know how to correlate the virus with bad neighborhoods unless it has to do with “wash your hands with soap.”

You piqued my interest. Didn’t think it would be so easy to find. Lol.

There are a bunch of other findings too.

You take it off in a safe area. Drying it means that your breath does not become moisture, which allows the virus to seep through the mask.

I would certain leave it under UV lights overnight. Just make sure.

We’re working through that now. In our case, our basement is probably our best bet. Turn off A/C, cover vent and put space heater in. If it’s warm enough I’d set up a tent and bed outside in the sun.

Toilet is a problem. Maybe a composing toilet? 5 gallon bucket and kitty litter? What I’ve seen them do for food in China is leave the food outside and leave, then the person opens the door to get the food. My son‘s old remote control cars might come in handy.

Tissues used by the sick person should be placed in a plastic bag. The bag should be tied or knotted and thrown away with other household garbage.

Uh, no. There'd be all sorts of ick on the outside of the bag. Then it'd get on you and then your garbage can so when you tell the kids to take out the garbage or roll it to the street it'll get all over them.
