Rush Limbaugh was moved to tears by a callers offer to donate one of his own lungs to the hosts battle against cancer during Wednesdays show.
And when youre done with me, if I could talk to Mr. Snerdley briefly, the caller said at the end of a brief conversation, prompting a mildly confused uh, okay, Im done with you, from Limbaugh. Minutes later, Americas Anchorman was fighting back tears.
I just asked Snerdley, What did that guy want who was through talking to me and wanted to talk to you?' Limbaugh said after an off-air conversation with producer James Bo Snerdley Golden during a break. Snerdley did not drop a beat: He wanted to donate a lung, if you wanted one.' The video clip, tweeted by the Washington Examiner, captures the legendary hosts candid reaction. Oh, wow That would have been the last thing that I I thought he was trying to grease the skids to call-in again, Limbaugh said in a voice choked with emotion. You all just continue to stop me dead in my tracks.
Limbaugh has been overwhelmed with support since the announcement of his stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis. I continue to get e-mails, and flowers, and cards
Its Its voluminous. And it is so
touching, he said, soldiering on through his tears. This is why I said last Friday
how lucky I am.

John Wayne developed lung cancer in 1964 and had the cancerous lung removed, along with four ribs. Rush’s condition may not permit that option.
One of my coworkers in the office across the hall had a second liver transplant after age 72. There may be arbitrary rules for medicare patients, but if you have other resources, those rules wouldn’t apply.
Fer pete's sake! How many lungs does a guy need????
What?
Never mind. ;-)
My dads lung cancer metastasized to his spine and he couldn’t walk about 3 weeks before his death, I wonder if the same thing didn’t happen to Rush and thats what the wheelchair was for at the SOTU speech.
Yes, Mantle had a liver transplant with prior diagnoses of alcohol induced cirrhosis, Hepatitis C and liver cancer.
Where did you see a wheelchair? I didn’t see one around and I saw pictures of him and Kathryn walking up and standing by the First Lady.
What wheelchair?
Lol. Of course, there’s always the compatibility issue. So, the more offers the higher the likelihood of a match.
A friend of mine’s dad 3 or 4 organs reduced in a breakthrough surgery at Mayo clinic in MN.
Spleen, liver, pancreas, intestine?
Might have been a different one.
He lived 4 more years,I think.
Amazing stuff happening out there.
How old was Dick Cheney when he got his transplant?
Rush was wheeled into the building, but he walked to his seat with his wife.
Stage IV means spread to the lymph nodes, metastasis. Replacing the primary organ, while a sweet gesture on the caller’s part, won’t make much of a difference.
The cancer needs to be eradicated from the blood and lymphatic system. That’s a tall order. Hoping for the best.
Rush Ping
The next caller suggested “dead in my tracks” wasn’t the right choice of words.
Destroyed his liver with decades of drinking, resulting in cancer. Got a transplant at 63 and lived for another 16 or 17 years.
Nothing is impossible with GOD. Believing in a miracle for Rush.
Thank you. Was racking the brain searching for wheelchair evidence with no success. Rush stood in front of the First Lady, turned his back to her and she placed the pendent around his neck and on his chest. He remained standing and turning for several minutes IIRC.
It was very touching and the caller was very on point and selfless about the anonymity of the offer.
Any kind of stage 4 cancer is metastic, has spread to other parts of the body.
I worked with a man who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2014. He is still alive and is in good health most of the time. Hes enjoying life and retirement.
