I think those of us on the left need to take a long look in the mirror and have an honest conversation about whats going on. If you had told me three years ago that I would ever attend a Donald Trump rally, I would have laughed and assured you that was never going to happen. Heck, if you had told me I would do it three months ago, I probably would have done the same thing. So, how did I find myself among 11,000-plus Trump supporters in Manchester, New Hampshire? Believe it or not, it all started with knitting.
You might not think of the knitting world as a particularly political community, but youd be wrong. Many knitters are particularly active in social justice communities and love to discuss the revolutionary role knitters have played in our culture. I started noticing this about a year ago, particularly on Instagram. I knit as a way to relax and escape the drama of real life, not to further engage with it. But it was impossible to ignore after roving gangs of online social justice warriors started going after anyone in the knitting community who was not lockstep in their ideology. Knitting stars on Instagram were bullied and mobbed by hundreds of people for seemingly innocuous offenses. One man got mobbed so badly that he had a nervous breakdown and was admitted to the hospital on suicide watch. Many things were not right about the hatred, and witnessing the vitriol coming from those I had aligned myself with politically was a massive wake-up call.

Thanx for sharing, awesome and inspirational.
That is a fantastic video. Thanks for posting it.
The Trump ad linked in post #5 is indeed Awesome! as many commenters have noted. I would add— Trump’s words are Eloquent, Optimistic, and Inclusive.
Let’s not forget— it’s an outtake from the SOTU speech that Herr Nancy tore up, with gorgeous added graphics.
We need to remind everyone of this.
“Rural” taken as an insult— LOL.
I’ve long theorized that living in too much concrete, neon & exhaust fumes makes some people plumb stupid.
Yeah, I’m still shaking my head over that incident. Undoubtedly one of the low points of my career, but so absurd that I have to laugh.
One thing I found about newspaper work is some of the worst trouble came from some of the most innocuous stories.
Heck, on the rare occasions we knew a story had the potential for a libel suit, we had our lawyers check everything about before we went to print.
BOTH countries are the PITS! But, as I have said before China is SO filthy that it makes India look clean. And I thought that India was FILTHY...until we got to China.
They are both OLD civilizations who BOTH claim to be the "oldest" and insist that OLDER is BETTER.
Older sure is filthier.
Also the Chinese had several very different dialects and the ONLY way they could communicate was with their writing...well, their characters. They don't have a writing system like we have.
Example: the word for "good" is "ho" and VERY good is "gei ho." The image for that word is a YOUNG WOMAN with a little boy--that is a woman who produces a son.
The Chinese, imho, have been, are and most probably will be the MOST misogynistic people on the planet.
This does NOT include ABC's = American born Chinese.
Ltr
Did you watch that video I linked? I found it astonishing, and I also found it reassuring to people of faith that prophecies made so long before did come to pass.
It indicates that God really is controlling the destiny of man.
Now I know what happened to my daughter in law. She started knitting. At first it was sane. Scarves mainly. Then she bought a spinning wheel. And started dying her own yarn... She knits socks, hats, afgans(DUH), sweaters and decorative place mats now. And she hates TRUMP, marches in vagina hat parade and sells her dyed yarn to a yarn shop. Where women gather. To knit, hate Trump and knit their very own vagina hats....
....sigh...
I fear what I’m going to receive and must wear, for my birthday...
Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...

I did watch it. I didn't quite believe all that was said but THOSE folks believed it.
Our good Lord knew all of this before He created ... "Let there be light."
OF COURSE our good Lord is controlling the destiny of man. We get to choose but He ALWAYS knew what we would choose.
He gave us FREE WILL so we DO get to choose.
Can you still speak any of it? I've always heard that Chinese has two dominate languages. Mandarin and Cantonese. I thought Mandarin was the dominant one though.
--My husband and I also traveled to China with a group of ARAMCOns way back in 1981. WHAT an eye-opener that was. --Our final dinner, for 5000 people, obviously with other tour groups, was in a HUGE dining hall-500 tables. There was ONE huge carpet, of silk, of course, for the entire banquet hall. There were FOUR wall hanging, one for each wall...made of jade carvings...all colors of jade as well. So when I write about some BAD stuff I DO remember some good stuff.
China used to be considered far more civilized and powerful than the European powers, but Europe grew in capability while China remained the same. It has been claimed that Confucius-ism is the cultural force which held China back from further development like that of the Western world.

I thought it was pretty impressive the way he translated those ancient Chinese symbols in light of later events surrounding Jesus. It seems as if they were prophetic.
No, I can't though I can still say "How are you?" Nay ho ma?
And answer: "Good, very good" Ho, gei ho
And you are correct about Mandarin and Cantonese.
The former is what mainland China speaks.
I don't think that Mandarin is spoken much here in the USA.
The Cantonese is generally what Chinese in America (FOB--fresh of the Boeing) speak and those ABC's (American Born Chinese) learn from their family or want to learn.
Before the emergence of modern China there was a myriad of dialects spoken but the Chinese could ALWAYS communicate with their writing...pictographs.
I remember China PROMISING to develop an alphabet but it hasn't come through and it's been decades. So, the Chinese stick with their VERY old fashioned and HIGHLY misogynistic pictographs. It's their country and they can do what they choose.
The Chinese are EXTREMELY clannish and do believe that they are superior in many ways. They aren't stupid though and have come out of their shell in some ways.
When they entered the world sports arena they lost with impunity. They just didn't have the strength. So, MEAT is protein which is the basis of muscle.
China HAD been feeding whatever meat they produced to their military. Meat is very expensive to produce so it made sense.
But, they wanted to compete in world sports and WIN. So they started giving their ATHLETES more protein...meat. Since then their athletes have been pretty good.
Side note: When the Hindus gave up meat, somewhere in the 15-16 century, they never won another war.
Sports? From Google -India first participated at the Olympic Games in 1900, with a lone athlete (Norman Pritchard) ... India has also competed at several Winter Olympic Games beginning in 1964. ... sent its first athlete to the Summer Olympics for the 1900 Games, but an Indian national team did not compete at the Summer Olympics until 1920.
===================================
The military and police are Sikhs. They do not practice the same "brand" of Hinduism...and they are meat eaters. They are unmistakable with their turbans.
So India does compete, but they AIN'T no Russians.
Someday I MUST tell you about a Sikh in California who wouldn't wear a helmet on his motorcycle.

Finally, Confucianism was developed in China by Master Kong in 551-479 BC, who was given the name Confucius by Jesuit missionaries who were visiting there. However, the fundamental principles of Confucianism began before his birth, during the Zhou Dynasty--1046 or so.
Confucianism might have contributed to the "holding back" on technical development but it's my guess that the total package of the Chinese culture did that.
They are making up for it now, aren't they?
I wouldn't put too much credence in that demonstration. It was a media package.
