Hillary Clinton declared Tuesday that democracy is in crisis amid the withdrawal of prosecutors from the case against Roger Stone after senior leaders at the Justice Department (DOJ) effectively overruled the prosecutors' judgment by seeking a lesser sentence for President Trump's former adviser.
Clinton, a former secretary of state and the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, bemoaned the departure of the DOJ prosecutors on the same day of the Republican-controlled Senates move to block three election security-related bills. Four prosecutors withdrew from the case, and at least one resigned from the Justice Department.
The rule of law & our democracy are in crisis, Clinton tweeted.

Trump’s enemies just get dispatched from the White House to land on their feet someplace else.
Yours wind up dead in creeks in Arkansas.
Stone faces more prison time for process crimes that an illegal alien who rapes a 10 year old.
The four prosecutors who withdrew from the Stone case are all ultra left wing liberals, and just another indication of the previous politicization of the Justice Department.
One of them was Obama’s deputy White House counsel. It boggles the mind he was given this position in a GOP administration. And you can thank the GOP for it. Trump floated a fire Mueller trial balloon and the GOP Senate shot it down.
What was Stone convicted of exactly? Lying to the FBI? This is a common FBI tactic, get someone to answer questions, catch some small “lie” and throw the book at them for it.
In future we should advise our people to decline to cooperate, plead the 5th, keep your mouth shut and the one thing that can’t happen is a conviction for lying to investigators or perjury.

4 Mueller partisan Dem attorneys leave and it’s a crisis?
Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedys chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair.
When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifmans 17-year career.
Why?
Because she was a liar, Zeifman said in an interview last week. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.
Does it ever occur to her that no one is interested in her opinion ON ANYTHING!! Never were - never will be!
Not to mention the fact that the entire investigation was a fraud to begin with.
Stone should be pardoned and released immediately. So should Flynn.
Besides - lying to democrat operatives who are trying to subvert the country isn’t a crime - it’s a moral imperative.
Zeifman did not fire Hillary. He did not have such authority.
What he could do and claims he did was recommend she (and Bernie Nussbaum, and one other guy) not be hired again by the House, and would not give her a letter of recommendation.
Plenty bad enough, but mis-stating that he fired her allows the other side to dismiss what he did do.
Thanks
