By thaat point in time, I have a name for it ... the Blanco-Nagin Express, for surely, it will demonstrate the administration’s ineptitude of that moment, as truly as Hurricane Katrina demonstrated the ineptitude of those two dolts!!

These asteroids are starting to annoy me. I read idea once about attaching a solar sail to an asteroid, using the sun’s radiation to change its course.
I would think that’s enough time to send up a big nuke just in case.

Admit it. We all think an asteroid strike would be cool to see, as long as it’s not too close.
The government scrambled when the first (2004) reports/calculations showed a 2029 collision... It redid the calculations using "million-man-march" mathematics and found that this first pass would just be a "close call"...
The next pass, in 2036 will be "much" closer...
