Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton says Coronavirus may have originated in Wuhan 'Super Laboratory'
Washington Examiner ^ | Jan 30, 2020 | Spencer Neale

Posted on 02/08/2020 5:21:34 PM PST by CondoleezzaProtege

The Arkansas Republican cited a study published by the Lancet that showed of the original 40 cases in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, 14 people who contracted the virus never set foot in the Wuhan wildlife market where Chinese authorities have claimed the virus originated.

"As one epidemiologist said, 'That virus went into the seafood market before it came out of the seafood market.' We still don't know where it originated," Cotton said. "I would note that Wuhan also has China's only biosafety level four super laboratory that works with the world's most deadly pathogens to include, yes, coronavirus."

The Washington Times reported last week that Wuhan Institute of Virology is the only laboratory in China capable of working with such deadly pathogens.

@SenTomCotton
China claimed—for almost two months—that coronavirus had originated in a Wuhan seafood market. That is not the case. @TheLancet published a study demonstrating that of the original 40 cases, 14 of them had no contact with the seafood market, including Patient Zero.

One way would be to have a vaccine that spreads like a virus, then you don’t have to openly inoculate anyone.

Very much like they intentionally infected people with cow pox to prevent the more deadly small pox in the 18th century.

The only problem with the idea is how do you contain the inoculating virus within your boarders.

If it escapes and inoculates the enemy your work on the deadly version is useless.

'But how do you inoculate your populace against a disease that hasn’t been released yet? One way would be to have a vaccine that spreads like a virus, then you don’t have to openly inoculate anyone.'

That's an interesting theory.

But isn't a virus itself a natural vaccine, for those who survive it?

I don't think the Chicoms would care much about losing a million or so people in the pursuit of a powerful bioweapon - ends/means, &c,

(Removing the 'tin' foil, now...)

A commenter at ZeroHedge wrote:

One avenue that hasn’t gotten much mainstream attention yet that I believe merits looking into is the route of Antibody dependent enhancement (ADE). S. Zhengli, one of the scientists mentioned in this article, published a paper on how Coronavirus can utilize ADE... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31826992

So WTF is ADE? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antibody-dependent_enhancement

Read up on Dengue Hemorraghic Fever... the first infection isn’t so bad, it’s the 2nd one that kills due to the virus now gaining entry to immune cells, triggering hyperactive immune response, cytokine storm, etc.

Why is it that this virus starts out with mild symptoms, sniffles, cough, etc.? And serious symptoms take much longer for onset? The ADE theory makes sense to me. In a place like Wuhan, reinfection is practically guaranteed due to the constant population reservoir, while in countries where the virus is relatively contained, reinfection is much less likely. Which could explain why we haven’t really seen deaths yet in countries where the virus is just recently introduced.

What’s effin scary about this theory is that a vaccine won’t make any sense—the antibodies would merely set you up for the lethal pathway. Pray to God that this isn’t true. But seeing the chemical spraying of the streets and the propaganda machine in hyperdrive isn’t too comforting.

Expanding on this, I’d expect medical crews to be much more susceptible to reinfection. Dr. Li Wenliang dying recently stands out, only 34, started coughing on Jan 10th... 27 days to succumb to this.

Also, consider the case study of the first US patient in Washington State : https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMoa2001191

If you add the days from when he was asymptomatic and began coughing prior to checking in to the hospital to the days of the case study, it’s roughly two weeks until he started to deteriorate... roughly the time for the body to begin antibody production. They did use Remdesivir, which was able to help him turn things around—it’s a protease inhibitor. Note that this man also was only 35 years old, you’d expect a healthy, strong immune response.

I think we should continue to watch areas with sustained local infection reservoirs and monitor the long-term status of the first infected, to see if they relapse. I just don’t trust what China’s putting out right now. Next likely candidates to monitor will be Japan, Hong Kong, and other neighboring but less oppressive Asia states to see how their nCoV infections progress.

So, do you think this is something that just ‘escaped’?

Could be: China's usual quality control problems, with containment hardware at the lab. Or cost-cutting on materials, corner-cutting on procedures. Or the cleaning crew taking a couple of infected animals to the wet market...or carcasses.

Or someone with an axe to grind taking out a couple of test tubes of something nasty and releasing them in public.

But remember...China started going batsh!t crazy over this, three weeks ago. Not just back when there were 200 fatalities. But back when there were ~200 cases.

What did they know? (China's always been "meh" about the loss of human life: there have been fairly recent wars / famines / plagues that have killed 10 or 20 *million*. And that was _before_ the Commies.)

Scientists in Isreal, UK, Canada, India, US, and other countries have said the same and are probably the source of Senator Cotton’s statement. It is too coincidental that a level4 lab that handles SAR, Ebola, Tiki, Coronavirus among other highly dangerous viruses is a stones throw away from Wuhan. Also of the initial 41, there is no data given of their occupations, residences, etc. Where does patient 0 work at. Likewise the seafood market had been seriously decontaminated and no data forthcoming regarding the disposal of any testing of the animals that were sold there. After information that the Chinese government was most likely the source they started floating stories that this may be U.S. biologic warfare and disputing the lab as a source. Disinformation. Senator Cotton is not a rumormongerer. He is right. There is a reason why they would rather kill their own people than have scientists from the US and other western countries help them. They want to control the narrative.

Speculation can make one feel better but in the end actual facts count for more...possible someone in the “bug factory” was infected w/o knowing it and ended up stating it...but seems very odd that those in the place would start such a thing in their own backyard....

If it is true that this virus is a weapon, I find it very plausible that it was intentionally introduced into the general population. We have seen many examples of questionable behavior over the last few years and it seems it is almost a competition do do the next bigger and dumber thing.

The Indian research was reported as real but awaiting peer review ( confirmation by another lab). To be determined.

I agree it could be introduced to “check it out”, but if you had a poison that could be introduced into water, would you test it by polluting your own water supply?
Would make more sense to have al ittle bit of geographical separation to do it.

Depends on your frame of mind. A mall shooter expects suicide by cop... Who is to say about a jilted lover or someone wanting to make a political statement. There are a lot of crazies out there. I would not exclude anyone from any action.

If that were the case - the Chinese would have a ready out by holding such a person up and “taking care of them and those that allowed it”

Which is one theory as to why this is more harmful to the Chinese population at this point. This came from the vaccine already administered. Vaccines supposedly in some elderly systems are a problem and can create a new virus. THEORY.
