Honeymooning couple quarantined on ‘coronavirus cruise’ beg Trump for help

Milena Basso and her husband Gaetano Cerullo are trapped on the quarantined Diamond Princess off the coast of Japan, with at least 64 cases of the killer virus confirmed on board.

The couple said the situation on the ship is “desperate” with food and water running out and the disease spreading through the 2,000 trapped passengers.

New cases are being confirmed every day, and the American newlyweds say they still have two weeks to wait before they can leave.

Cerullo told Fox News: “We are kind of worried because we've still got two weeks on here assuming that works out in our favor and we still have to get onto American soil.

“And, if Donald Trump could help us in any way...”

Times have changed, it used to be that the runs or a mechanical breakdown was the worst people had to deal with, and that was very rare (as in 1 in 1000, if that).

But now, with Coronavirus, it could easily mean the end of the cruise ship business, at least as we know it (if not completely). The IDIOTS running the business were thinking that a few cancellations/reroutings of ships, but otherwise business as usual.

They have NO CLUE as to what’s in store for them. They SHOULD have been proactive, but now it’s far too late for them. If I was in Europe building the new, huge, ships, I’d be updating my resume’.

No, not at all.

A cruise ship is a floating petri dish.

Leaving my house, I have control over how I go, where I go, what I do, how I react to my surroundings, when I return.

To say “avoiding Cruise Ships” = “locking yourself in your house”....

Do I really have to assign an adjective to that reasoning? Or can you figure it out for yourself?

I don’t know...if I have to be stuck on a cruise ship for two weeks, my honeymoon would probably be an ideal time.

“I bet cruise cancellations are at an all-time high.”

I AGREE - even people with only 50% refunds, due to getting near sailing date, are likely wanting their refunds. This will not end well for them...but it is their bed, and now they get to sleep in it.

i don’t believe that for one second, and if these idiots are claiming that, then EVERYTHING else they’re claiming is suspect ...

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7980625/American-passenger-trapped-coronavirus-cruise-ship-Japan-tweets-reviews-food.html

American cruise passenger passes the time stuck in coronavirus quarantine by tweeting reviews of his food as he jokes the only pleas for help are ‘for more coffee’
Matthew Smith, an American passenger on the quarantined Diamond Princess, tweets his meal reviews to pass the hours of his almost week-long quarantine
Smith claimed that the only complaint he has is that he needs more coffee
He added that staff ‘might have to drag me off the ship when the quarantine ends’ because he’s enjoying the meal service to his room so much
Smith has been quarantined in his cabin since Sunday but shares pictures of his meals and the thermometers supplied to monitor temperatures
A total of 64 people on the cruise ship have tested positive for coronavirus, including 11 Americans
Other 3,700 passengers will be held aboard the ‘floating prison’ for up to a month in quarantine
Japanese officials sternly refuse to disembark passengers as food, water and medicine grow short
Outbreak is believed to have started with a single infected passenger who disembarked in Hong Kong

“Ever hear of Legionnaires Disease?”

How many killed or even affected in the past 10 years (since they upgraded their system requirements)?

Do they happen to have any coconuts with them? On Gilligans Island they found all sorts of creative things to do with coconuts.

Agreed. They are nothing more than floating hotels. No way I am going to be stuck on one for a week.

“My thoughts exactly. Why is this guy complaining. Youth is wasted on the young.”

Not sure of what generation you’re from, but starting at the Baby Boomer generation, most of the ‘honeymoon effect’ was long-gone by the wedding ceremony.

FWIW I’ve never gone on a cruise ship, but I have many friends and relatives who have. And none have gotten sick.

In 2018 28.5 Million people went on cruises but your odds of getting sick on your cruise are just one in 14,000 and the most common illness is Norovirus.

But Norovirus can infect not just cruise ships but any place with a lot of people confined in close spaces: schools and child care centers, long term care facilities, casinos, catered events and offices.

According to the CDC, cruise ships account for a small percentage (1%) of reported norovirus outbreaks overall.
