How to quit Smoking (vanity)
vanity | 2/7/2020 | self

Posted on 02/07/2020 2:49:03 PM PST by sodpoodle

As a single, senior old lady who has smoked for decades, I finally came up with this idea;)

Have been smoking the most expensive brand, menthol, elegantly slim which has been costing me more than my food budget!!!

So, I decided to buy a pack of cheap, chunky cigarettes for half the price of my usual purchase.

I HATE THEM AND I'LL NOT BE BUYING OR SMOKING ANY MORE11111

My advice would be to stay clear of known terrorists. President Trump will have you smokin’ in no time if you don’t.

I have a better idea: stop smoking all together.
It is INSANE to be smoking at this day and age.
You know better but you haven't the backbone to stop it.

Best idea: PRAY to our good Lord for the strength and courage to give up the ciggie-butts.

Good for you! I encourage you to quit. My dad smoked for years. Took him about five tries but he finally quit in his late 40s.

YOU GO GIRL!!!

Quit, and if you must, keep quitting until you succeed.

I quit when my wife became pregnant with our first child, who is now 26. It CAN BE DONE!

Back in my day, I found Nicorette gum helped me quit smoking, but these days vaping seems to be the preferred alternative.

Unfortunately, President Trump banned flavored vape products, including menthol flavored. My wife, who is trying to quit by vaping has been buying out Juul Menthol vapes before they're gone compeletely.

But keep it up, quit those cigarettes!

I quit cold turkey after smoking for 50years. Thank God I did. I’m surprised how easy it was.

It does seem that men quit more easily than women.

Quit for good using the patch - the best ones I found were the Wal-Mart Equate brand, not NicoDerm.
Wal-mart ones stick in place, even when sweating or in the shower, unlike any other brand I tried.
And they’re 20 bucks cheaper than NicoDerm.

I too quit cold turkey after 50+ years. Once I decided it was easy and I never picked up another one. Now 78.

The hardest part is not to back slide.
Remember doubt is your biggest enemy and also your
biggest ally.
Once you have shown your doubt that it is baseless
you convert it to a positive.

Instead of saying, I can’t do this. You Know that
you can and while not easy, there will come a time
when you will have no doubt about your own will and
will feel no desire to smoke.

Once you have stopped you will realize that people who
do smoke , smell bad, cough a lot, and are generally
sick from taking a poison into their bodies.

Pot in particular being a social item tends to pass
around bronchial deseases from passing joints back and
forth.

You can DO this.

Worked for a 82 year old rancher in Simpson, Louisiana who smoked a pack a day since man harnessed fire an has the steam of a 30 year old.

What has worked for some people was quitting at a time when they were terribly ill for some reason. While their body was dealing with the illness and the meds, they hardly noticed the withdrawal affects from the cigarettes.

For myself, I just went cold turkey and didn’t look back.

For me I just turned the key that had always said I couldn’t successfully quit to the reverse side that knew I could.

Vaping isn’t a safe alternative, either.

I personally prefer the cold turkey method.
Just STOP.
Why take in more nicotine in any form.

It’s also INSANE to be overweight in this day and age!
People know better but they haven’t the backbone to stop it...right?

Being overweight has now surpassed serious health risks above those who smoke....
