You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
A MAN IS NOT PAID FOR HAVING A HEAD AND HANDS, BUT FOR USING THEM. ---ELBERT HUBBARD
2 min.
Tenth word, double letter; not too many double letters.
That gives the end of that word, which confirms a common three-letter word and unlocks the puzzle.
First two words of the second sentence....
As a micro-machinist and semiconductor process engineer, I couldn’t agree more!
Wild guesses on the small words did it.
Not hard
The 2 sets of double letters in last word of quote did it for me.
HMRE RE HMI did it for me.
Last word, the rest started becoming clear.
3 minutes. First two words of second sentence, then start peeling the onion back.
Thar was they key I used to solve the puzzle.
