You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
I don't think Trump shook Pence's hand. He just handed the SOTU speech to Pelosi then to Pence and turned.
I've seen dozens upon dozens of these in my lifetime, and you always have the good natured back and forth going back to the days of Tip and Reagan, but this is different.
Trump has a way of bringing out the anger and hate in these people. It's really amazing, how he's "outed" all of them.
And lastly, anyone see that terrible remark Jim Acosta made about Rush. Basically calling him a racist, and not a worthy recipient of the Freedom Medal.
Solution to our last puzzle:
HARD WORK KEEPS THE WRINKLES OUT OF THE MIND AND SPIRIT. HELENA RUBINSTEIN
If you watched Nancy Rude Pelousys introduction of President Trump, she omitted the traditional introduction of the President which is Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my distinct privilege and honor to present the President of the United States, XXXXXXX and said instead: Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States.
So, Trump, not missing the obvious slight, when he handed the copy of the speech to her, turned away, ignoring her extended hand instead of shaking it. I dont blame him. She may of had a contact poison on it.
3 min. Third word finally got me on the right track after guessing Wong on the double letter in the 6th word.
The shrinking violent Nancy is doomed.
A man has to know his limits.
When did she introduce him? Are you sure it was before he gave her the speech?
Yup. It struck me that it was somewhat short, and not flowery.
It is traditional that the Speaker of the House introduce the President. . . But she shortened the traditional words. Made it rude.
Come to think of it, I didn’t pick up on that, but I bet you he did.
Newt Gingerich noted it. When he introduced Bill Clinton after his impeachment, he used the full formal phrasing, “Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the privilege and the distinct honor of introducing the President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton.”
Nancy just showed her arse all night.
one comment basically covered it all—
She was acting like a 15 yo whose parents made her go to a formal event or visit a sick relative.
Her rolling eyes etc should make a good ‘sound bite’ when showing her reactions when PDJT was pointing out people.
Don’t even think of how this were to be perceived had anyone from the R side had acted like that for BO.
Remember Joe Wilson.
AND - That ‘spoiled brat’ is 3rd in line...
Had some trouble at first, then I somehow guessed the first three words which made it really easy to finish the rest.
Did he see her extend a hand? I’m not sure. You’d think he would expect it, but these are different times. I’ve heard that they haven’t spoken since October, and impeachment is pending.
"Wong?"
Dann you Autocorrect.
Just repeated that on the local AM radio station. Thank you!
Then again, yesterday's puzzle about wrinkles may be more appropriate.
I think typos were better. :)
Dann Wong. Who can ever forget him?
Never heard of the author, but then I have lived a sheltered life.
