Coronavirus Coincidences
WeChat ^ | 4 Feb 2020 | Steely Tom

OK, got this from a very good source.

This is what's being discussed in Chinese on WeChat right now.

  1. There is a virology institute in Wuhan.
  2. This facility does have a P-4 laboratory; P-4 is the level of protection necessary for handling viruses that could cause fatal pandemics.
  3. At least one of the research projects at this facility involves coronovirus.
  4. At least one of the research directions being pursued at this facility involves genetically modifying coronavirus particles to jump between species, although they are only admitting to success in getting it to cross between bats and mice.
  5. The director of this facility, with the P-4 lab, is a 31-year-old woman with zero management background.
  6. She has published a total of 11 papers, every one of the as a co-author with her husband, who is also a virologist.
  7. Her husband is 15 years older than she.
  8. Her husband is the President of Wuhan University.
  9. The 31-year-old director got her PhD from Wuhan Univeristy.

“Chinese people on WeChat are actually saying that the idea that laboratory animals infected with the virus got out into the food festival and eaten is not too far-fetched.”

There’s not too much else it could be. The characteristics appear to occupy the perfect sweet spot, where it’s next to impossible control without drastic measures, yet it’s strong enough to pretty much bring a society to its knees (but if it was any stronger, it wouldn’t be able to spread as easily, as it would kill its hosts too quickly).

Obviously China didn’t want it to get loose, at least until they had countermeasures developed. So that theory does make the most sense, at this point.

You know, people have saying all this "womyn in STEM" crap is going to get us in trouble.

Who'd have thought it would bite the Chinese on the ass first?

Ross’ comment about jobs was pretty stupid, but the following commie piece by the PLA was hateful, dishonest and hinted at a desire for eventual war. And it’s obvious that the PLA prefers to see Democrats in office here.

By the way, 10 more cases just found during an initial screening on a Princess cruise ship in Tokyo Harbor. Ship is now locked down for 14 days. I think this was one of the ships planned to go to China (from Japan, round trip), and they cancelled China and apparently stayed in Hong Kong.

...and so it continues.

Should have included a link:

The US, and the rest of the world, remain about 2 to 3 weeks behind in taking the steps needed to contain this monster.

All flights out of China should be shutdown for at least 2 weeks.

This is very much like the opening of the 1975 BBC TV series “Survivors” available free on YouTube.

At least 2 weeks...but no, I’d rather not watch the YouTube...reality is scary enough for me.
