NBC has more racists in their ranks by percentage than all of Kansas City. A liberal will judge on race, sex, orientation, religious beliefs and social class before they even engage in a subject of one of their stories or investigations. They have to. Their entire business model and ideological existences depends and is focused on it. They must foment outrage in order to get people to watch and drive their ratings. Divisive messaging IS ESSENTIAL in their “news”.
Is it really cultural “appropriation” or RESPECT for some aspects of some “native Americans” and particularly fierce bravery on the battlefield. The latter is clearly why some sports teams adopt(ed) various “native American” titles in their names, and NOT out of any disrespect.
Those titles have entered the COMMON AMERICAN culture and now belong to the COMMON AMERICAN culture. That occurs in EVERY culture and it occurs NOT out of disrespectful “appropriation” but the mingling of sources over time.

There is an English Premiership Rugby Team called the Exeter Chiefs. Their logo is an Indian in a war bonnet and the fans regularly do the tomahawk chop, do the war song, and many dress up as Indians. They are all racists too.
Of course the 49ers are named after the men who came to California during the gold rush disrupting the peaceful Indian natives and Spanish (not Mexican) settlers. Long Beach State calls its teams 49ers as well, but I believe they’ve ditched their mascot as divisive.

True enough our stadium is called Arrowhead, we were “informed” it was “insensitive” to do the tomahawk chop, so I quit in disgust and haven’t returned, once we were “given permission” but more “racism” was drawn to the fact that after every score, another mascot, Warpaint, a horse was ridden throughout the length of the field, bareback rider wearing only a Native American inspired loin cloth by horse owner, Bob Johnson, who proudly did have Native American ancestry!

I lived in the KC area when they won their first Super Bowl. Crazy time. There was no tomahawk chop back then. I don't know when that became a thing, but I hate it.
