With the Super Bowl comes a slew of commercials vying for viewers' attention. During advertising's biggest night, companies and organizations forked over up to $5.6 million for 30 seconds with nearly 100 million people tuning into the big game.
This year, Hyundai and Jeep made the "best of" list with their whimsical humor by poking fun at Boston accents and reuniting the Groundhog Day cast, Punxsutawney Phil included. Google struck heartstrings with a quiet message about aging and remembrance. Cheetos and Doritos both played off exaggerated dancing to good effect.
Meanwhile, Pop-Tarts and a Hard Rock action-movie commercial failed to connect with viewers.

I remember when the Super Bowl was simply the professional football championship. The halftime show at the first Super Bowl? Grambling and Arizona State marching bands.
*sigh* a simpler, better time.
It was a decent game. Glad KC won, Andy Reid gets his SB, and there are local connections, (closet Cleveland will ever get to even sniffing a SB).
The halftime show confused me. The women were pretty, and nice to watch, (except that horrible tongue wagging thing). But pole dancing? And half of it in Spanish? The acoustics were horrid, and the rappers were unknown to me. I’m old, they don’t care if I liked the halftime show, in fact, they don’t care if I, and those like me, watch at all.
The stripper and pole-dancing act at half-time only lacked lecherous men putting money in their thongs. Otherwise, it was very realistic.

that was Sam Elliot and it was also my favorite commercial. Doritos, the Cool Ranch was the ad.,
Yeah, but you saw them, and are talking them.
Since I taped it and watched it in replay, I missed all of the lame commercials, and totally unaware of any “good” ones. For me there are no good ones. 8>)
Anyone remember the time when the halftime show was real music, made in real time, by real musicians right on the field? Bring back the marching bands.
We all had the same reaction: "sure, were recording your every word, forever, but youll thank us when you have Alzheimers."
I thought the Pop Tarts and Turbo Tax commercials were amongst the worst I saw.
Ha
Yeah where were the puppies?
Yes, I missed it too -- was mowing the lawn.
Darn! < /s>

I am so sick of the Girl Power message. Sick of it.
100% agree. The deodorant ad with the all girl football team was dumb. Just dumb.
Within minutes of the win last night I saw a Chief’s win image on FB from the NFL that had tints of pink mixed in all over the image. Dumb.... But nothing surprises me anymore from this PC-focused NFL.
The Jeep commercial was cute. I want to go out and buy a Jeep pickup truck. But I wanted to do that last week, as well. Jeep is going to sell a gazillion of those things.
Hyundai Shmaht Pahk looks like a terrible idea. I can put my car into a space that is too small for me to open a door? Wonderful! What happens when the guy next to me tries to open up his door?
Trump Ad: Whoa! This is going to rock some boats! Completely unexpected direction, and therefore effective.
Bloomberg Ad: Weasel-words on top of weasel-words. Over-produced and deceptive. In other words, a typical Mike Bloomberg Ad. Completely predictable, and therefore ineffective.
I much more enjoyed the College Football Championship; nothing but football.
The trump commercial about justice reform ...... :)
animal planet channel.
Talk about women exploitation. WTH was that half time show? The camera angles made it soft porn.
Jeep has had PU Trucks before......................
