This video shows the Top 20 countries by the number of infected people with the novel coronavirus. The virus was first identified in late 2019 in Wuhan, the capital of China's Hubei province. Tibet was the last virus-free Chinese province before one person was confirmed of the coronavirus on January 31, 2020.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Several of them were threatened with severe disciplinary action if they didn't stop "spreading rumors," and they stopped using WeChat.
According to my wife, the threats came from the a Chinese state security agency

The Chinese state security personnel are probably the first ones shoving their way to the front of the line for medical services even though their actions handicapped the pandemic response in the beginning.
You have the Monte Carlo chart? That one showing the projected spread versus actual results?
The steps the state has taken the last couple of weeks shows they are terrified of caronavirus. I wonder why they weren’t taking more aggressive measures in December? If this was identified as a bio weapon release one would assume they would have been quarantining from day one.

Mortality rate would be 50% if half of infected dies.
Currently this virus has nothing on Spanish flu which kelled up to 100 million people in 1920. It killed 20% of Iranian population alone and overall 6% of all people worldwide.
And there was somehow modern medicine in 1920 and air travel was in its infancy meaning it couldn’t spread the way it is now.

Yep. With a tremendous number of unresolved cases.
The numbers are currently improving - now it’s only about a 42% mortality rate. Still pretty bad, but the trend is in the right direction.

Why are they not telling us about recovered patients?
There should be 3 categories: infected, dead and recovered.
I never see stats on recovered.
