Those champion Sawx remain under investigation by MLB commissioner Rob Manfred for illegal sign-stealing the very crime of which their immediate predecessors, the 2017 Astros, have been convicted.
Alex Cora, the manager of the former team and the bench coach of the latter, stands as the common thread. Manfred identified him as a mastermind of the 17 Astros scheme, and a suspension of at least one year appears quite likely. Cora and the Red Sox parted ways the day after Manfred released his report on those Astros.
The Red Sox owners and All-Star J.D. Martinez have intimated that their team will come out clean, and at the surface level, you can understand why. For starters, no one has put his name on these allegations as did 17 Astros pitcher Mike Fiers, nor has a smoking-gun video emerged, as did those Astros trash can-banging against the White Sox and Danny Farquhar (courtesy of social-media detective @Jomboy_).

So, what will they do? Strip the MLB championship from them? Is there is a precedent? The most I know about MLB is that the Orioles perpetually suck, and only from a ‘home team’ POV.
In Baseball, sign stealing and attempted sign stealing is as old as the sport itself. There are three main sign stealing categories in Baseball.
1) successfully stealing AND concealing.
2) successful stealing AND getting caught.
3) unsuccessful sign stealing. Caught or not.
Sure.
Who could forget, Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth and Willie Mays using TV cameras, monitors and wireless buzzers.
Right?
Of course not.
There are legal ways to steal signs that are as old as the sport itself and there are illegal ways used by the cheating Astros and Red Sox to steal sign in the last three years.
So...the lost boys are kicking Peter Pan out of Neverland?
The Red Sox have to grow up and get real jobs now.
This is Hugh!
Really really super series.
Rule 401 (FREs Test for relevant Evidence) states that Evidence is relevant if: it has any tendency to make a fact more or less probable than it would without the Evidence, and, the fact is of consequence in determining the action.
As such, there are three key elements to consider if Evidence is relevant: (i) Any Tendency, (ii) More or less Probable, and (iii) is of Consequence.
In view of the information given in the mrigal post, I do not see how this information meets the criteria to be Relevant Evidence. That said, Rule 403 (FREs) allows a Judge the latitude to make such a determination.
With hope, this is clear. L.R.
So, as long as you don’t use modern tech stealing is not stealing? There are Legal Ways to Steal?
Where in the Baseball Rule Book is this outlined? Is there a Baseball guideline detailing Legal Stealing versus Illegal Stealing?
No. There isn’t.
Once again, the attempted and or, successful stealing of signs from opponents has been going on since the beginning of the sport.
The elaborate signing in Baseball is an acknowledgement of this fact and, an attempt to prevent the opposition from understanding what the team using the elaborate signals are trying to communicate. This is an undeniable fact.
Yes, there is. From Wikipedia:
I disagree with logic that there’s too much money at stake for MLB to ban the participating players.
While you can’t avoid hearing a bat hit a trashcan, voluntarily wearing a buzzer should mean a life-time ban.
Home: 38-43
Away: 46-35
Looks like they did most of their cheating on the road.....LOL! They must have used spies.
Can you cite a more accurate and respected source?
Old bazooka gum wrappers would suffice.
*cook = cheat
Red Sox:
Home: 38-43
Away: 46-35

Uhhhh, pisst....a little secret....you missed the year. 2018 was the year in question. 108 wins
Well, they could have but just didn’t get caught.......LOL!
Old fashioned sign stealing was obvious and when caught, the hitter usually got some chin music.
This is different but should be met with the same form of justice, but with bruises and broken bones versus just a little taste of dirt.
It was the Russkies I tell ya!
Using electronics, including television cameras, is not allowed. The Red Sox had previously been caught using a cell phone in the bullpen to relay signs, years ago.
