San Francisco 49ers @ Kansas City Chiefs
Match up chart at the link.
Did you know the Forty Niners have a better offense through the regular season than the Chiefs?
And did you know the Forty Niners have a far more effective defense and running game than the Chiefs?
On paper this should not be a close game, and should be quite boring as the 9ers chew up clock and keep the Chief's offense on the sidelines.

Im just here for the commercials... not
Should be a good game
Ping for Sunday night
Reid may choke again in the big game. He shared with Dick Vermeil an inability to manage time-outs and make in-game adjustments.
OTOH, Vermeil won with “The Greatest Show on Turf” Rams. So the question is, are the Chiefs really that much better than the 49ers? I don’t think so.
49ers and the UNDER.
My heart will be with Andy Reid. But, my money went on the 49ers. I think San Fran controls the line of scrimmage on both sides. He who wins the Fat Boy battle, usually wins the game.
I also think it’s going to a BIG disappointment, as everyone is expecting a close, exciting game. I think San Fran is going to run all over the Chiefs... and shorten the game considerably.
By what measure?
I just watch for the America hating, transvestite promoting commercials. Sounds like it will be a good year.
“San Fran is going to run all over the Chiefs... and shorten the game considerably”
If Jimmy throws 12 passes I’ll be astounded.
But they can win either way. When needed they have a great passing game. They beat the Saints 48-46 in NO.
They just rarely need it.
“By what measure? “
Total yards and points scored.
49ers did have trouble with mobile QB’s, like Murray... but, they still won.
The game just SO much easier when you can RUN the ball, at will.
1.9 yard per game difference - and not a very meaningful stat; the Cowboys far exceeded them both and missed the playoffs.
and points scored.
1.7 points per game - and the 9ers padded their stats with big scores against the Panthers (2nd worst scoring D), Bengals (8th worst), and Saints.
And lost to Wilson and Jackson.
“49ers did have trouble with mobile QBs, like Murray... but, they still won.”
They are proud of their 4-man rush and 7-man zone defense. Overall it’s been excellent, but they need to learn the basics of the safety blitz, and the occasional linebacker blitz.
They have to play zone defense to be successful due to talent issues back there. Collectively they have a very good D backfield, but individually they almost all suck.
The key will be to “shorten the field” for Mahomes by giving him no more than 4 seconds to get rid of the ball, every single down. And only 3 secs for most downs. Containment and pressure.
SF has 6 big, strong, healthy and young defensive linemen. 4 of them are first round draft picks and 4 of them have been to the pro bowl. These guys will be rotating in and out so that they can be coming 101% every down.
Mahomes is in danger.
And everyone is in awe of the Chiefs offense, never mentioning the 9ers.
Oh, the real difference is less than the hype difference, for sure - and when all's said and done I pick the 9ers to win. But it could go either way.
Not a fan of either team but dont dislike either one. Im going with KC. The whole game is whether Mahones has time to get a rhythm going - if so hes unstoppable. Youve got to put pressure on him. Trouble is, hes a very mobile athletic QB but is also an excellent pocket passer who has a quick release and good pocket discipline. When he does have to scramble his eyes never leave looking downfield for someone to get open. If all else fails and he has to run, he can kill you on that too - but he tries to avoid that, he doesnt look for it. He knows you win NFL games in the pocket and thats where he trys to to stay. If the Niners stop him they win. Either by keeping Mahones off the field with a power running game or shutting him down with the pass rush. Im going with the Chiefs because they seem to be the hotter team now.
This is gonna be a hell of a good game
You are the first person I’ve seen give a crap about Mahome’s race. And unlike Kaep he actually can pass, very well. And hasn’t taken any political positions, especially not any to cover for the fact that he’s just mad he got benched. Of course he hasn’t been benched. And won’t be. Not for at least a decade. He’s a generational talent.
What’s the “NFL”? LOL!
