Posted on 01/31/2020 6:41:59 AM PST by nikos1121

Today’s CG is from me

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

2 min.

Double letter in 2nd word...two guesses. One of them makes more sense with the first word.
With that out of the way, either the 3rd word from its double letter, then the 4th word.

Then take a look around, you’ll find things that make sense.

Took me a while on the author’s name.

Thought the whole quote was rather sweet...

Took a little longer, about 5 minutes. To quote Crystal Gayle, it made my brown eyes blue...

Double-letter words were my starting point.

I had to go to work early today so just now getting to this. Good pic. The quote reads like a romance novel. Not sure I could come up with a better pic than yours with the wet t-shirt :)

Probably about 3 minutes today. I solved with brute force although the quote is the complete opposite.

That’s what I was thinking too (about the romance novel).
