Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Florida said a hazmat team responded to a gas station where a man filling up his boat confused a fishing pole holder for the gas tank.
Orange County Fire Rescue said the customer at 7-Eleven in Orlando was attempting to fill up his 18-foot boat about 11:35 a.m. Monday when he accidentally pumped 30 gallons of gas directly into the cockpit.
Fire Rescue said the man pumped about $60 worth of fuel into the cockpit and then put another $40 of gas into the actual gas tank.
The hazmat team was able to siphon most of the gas out of the boat and no injuries or evacuations were reported at the station.
That's two strikes, if we find out he's a Dem we know exactly what happened.
Nice boat. Must be a first timer.
Mine is a 23 Bullsbay center console.
As the comedian Bill Engvall says - “There’s your sign....”
Brings new meaning to the phrase “Fill ‘er up!”
I had one similar to the pic.
Never put gas in the hull though.....
Or driving.................
>>Was alcohol involved?
Florida Man was. That’s all you need, alcohol not required. But may well have been involved.
Later, for SURE
My friend Rod and I were out looking for morels at Goose Lake in IL. A new boat owner had launched his boat at one of the docks on Lincoln Lake, but was having probs w boat. Owner said the boat had no power, it would move but even a near full throttle it was bearing moving. Tho the temps were pretty cool, Rod went into to lake to see if the prop had come off or was just spinning on shaft. After about 30 seconds, Rod comes back up gagging and coughing. After he got the water out of his lungs, Rod was laughing.
NEW owner had the trailer attached to boat. We hadn’t noticed the trailer straps were still attached to boat.
Owner was very cool, he said this is way he came down to the launch on a weekday afternoon, nobody would be on the lake, so he would have time to work out kinks of operating his first boat.
Rod & I helped get the trailer back on truck, boat “launched”, then Rod took him out on the lake for training.
He would always buy us or anyone with us a round of drinks whenever he saw us at the Goose Lake club. We never said a word to anyone about this, but anytime we needed a laugh, all we had to say was “trailer”.
What’s a rig like that cost? $15-20k? I have no clue.
A boss I had many years ago, now long deceased, had a Datsun pickup truck. he had pulled a trailered boat onto the ramp at Lake Okeechobee to launch it and got out to undo the straps and stuff.
Forgot to set the parking brake.
Boat, trailer and truck went straight into the lake...............................
I was at the dock waiting to use the ramp. A guy had his brand new boat docked, went and got his brand new truck. He backed the trailer in, got out of his truck (brand new). Proceeded to untie his boat so he could load it. The truck (brand new) rolled backwards into the water. Sinking above the driver door.
I asked if he had help coming. He said yes. Then he said he just bought the truck yesterday.
See MY post just prior to yours!......................
Floriduh Man...
Has to be at least that, I’d think.
How about it Red?
Yep same story. I now ALWAYS use my parking break.
I put oil in my radiator. LOL
Yeah, that was last week:)
I have a 4 foot diameter storm drain pipe running through my property and some times stuff happens.
I do not change my own oil, just joking about that, but...
I seen the 3 Stooges put gas in a radiator once! Then there’s a youtube video a girl trying to fill up her Tesla with gas, too! Not that was funny.
