Damn shame.
If the officer had been around at the time, maybe he could have prevented his weapon from doing this...
I can’t wait till the newsies invent the fourth, fifth and sixth persons singular.
I guess he thinks it's pretty serious.
Did they arrest the weapon?
This made me look up what PCP smells like: Supposedly like permanent markers when burned, I guess you can actually smell it through burning weed or tobacco if it’s laced. At least that’s what a 10 second internet search revealed.
Freegards
Actors should be transported in the backseat, separated by a cage.
Yep, another case of some firearm just jumping up, and cutting loose, all by itself.
from the article
“Prince Georges County States Attorney Aisha Braveboy ...”
* so is Braveboy a male or a female? A “native” American? Or ...?
* I guess it takes 7 shots at very close range to eliminate the threat.
BTW - I am very curious about all the facts regarding this case. The officer’s statement should be a doozy - (but that probably makes it sound like I am judging).
so much for guns don’t kill people
Years ago I had to fight off two young, fairly small guys that I caught trying to break in to my vehicle. They were high on PCP, and I had to hurt them really bad to get them off me. Even broken fingers wouldn’t make them let go of me. They didn’t even notice the pain.
Cop thought he was reaching into the front of his waist band (what normal people call a belt) and in fear for his life shot him 15 times.
“You must have hit a bump or something.”
PG is a heavily Black area.
This could cause serious problems.
Sometimes it’s best to keep quiet. Looks like the cop had heard enough.
1974 while handcuffed I was kneed in the jewels by 2 San Diego PD Officers while they kicked my fresh from the Dry Cleaners Uniforms all over the Beach (taking turns kneeing me and kicking my Uniforms around) I was not Charged nor Arrested, they turned me over to Shore Patrol that drove me around for 1/2 hour and then instructed me to gather up my stuff and truck be Thankful that no-one had stolen my Uniforms and return immediately to the Naval Station because if the PD found me again they couldn’t help.
All because a guy saved me a parking space and I pulled in before they (the PD) did.
Months later (after I filed a Protest/Complaint and was off the Coast of Viet Nam, yeah I know, the War is over) One of the Officers involved was accused of killing a Sailor “While he was attempting to escape” and my Complaint was offered up in Trial, seems the Sailor fell and the Officer tripped over the Sailors Head crushing his skull and killing him.
Those days it took months to communicate, I never got to go to Court, I never got to Testify (as I would be gone for another 4 Months anyway) and never found out the outcome of the Trial (I think I know).
San Diego cops in those days were no different than the War Protestors just Armed and In Power and very Cruel.
I was 18 years old then and I have NEVER forgotten nor have I forgiven. Those 2 idiots enjoyed kneeing me over and over and taking turns... today if anything like that ever happens to me like that again... #1 There is NO PLACE ON THE PLANET TO HIDE #2 Their “Hell to Pay” NEW “Life Story” would be Directed, Orchestrated and be ADMINISTERED by ME and My Friends #3 Over the years I’ve learned a few things
(I am Still Pissed!)
The new york slimes birdcage liner (New York Times) says that the man was shot while he was “handcuffed in the back of a patrol car”
Wow. They charged the officer fast!
“...Cpl. Michael Owen, Jr., a 10-year veteran of the force.
Owen was also charged with voluntary and involuntary manslaughter, first-degree assault and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, according to a news release. He was arrested on Tuesday, department spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan said.”
The suspect was buckled into the front passenger seat of the vehicle, which Cotterman said is normal for Prince George’s County police.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s not normal for any of the police departments around here.
Seven shots from a few feet away didnt kill the perp on the spot. Gun must have started with a nine. Why wasnt the perp in the back? Hurt the perps feelings to be in the back?
I can fondly remember a time when Temple Hills and the surrounding area had not been overwhelmed by the DC Amish migration into PG County...
