Handcuffed man shot and killed inside Maryland police cruiser

A man who had been handcuffed with his arms behind his back by police in Maryland was shot and killed inside an officer's cruiser.

Prince George's County police officers responded Monday night to reports that a driver had struck multiple vehicles near the Temple Hills community, spokeswoman Christina Cotterman told news outlets during a news conference.

When officers located the driver, they smelled PCP and believed the man was under the influence, Cotterman said. The suspect was buckled into the front passenger seat of the vehicle, which Cotterman said is normal for Prince George's County police. The officer then got into the driver's seat.

The man was shot multiple times by the officer's service weapon, the police spokeswoman said.

I also think the convicted actors were CI's for the Keller, Texas PD.

The investigator would verify this and was not part of testimony.

Seven shots from a few feet away didn’t kill the perp on the spot. Gun must have started with a nine. Why wasn’t the perp in the back? Hurt the perps feelings to be in the back?

I can fondly remember a time when Temple Hills and the surrounding area had not been overwhelmed by the DC Amish migration into PG County...

Rank and File PD stood for that? They covered for CI’s?
Think that says a lot
Think that explains a lot about what is going on with the FBI today, they won’t cross that line. That is wrong and very damaging to LE across the board.
PS The Man that read the Teletype to me 1974 about the Murder of a Sailor and the Court Invite for me to Testify about my complaint (Which couldn’t happen because I was deployed) was an Ex LA PD Cop himself and he was pissed that I couldn’t go Testify (He really was a good Cop before he was a Naval Officer)
I just had to get over it all over again and know that POS San Diego PD Officer got away with Murder because the poor guy he killed was just a Sailor and at the time Sailors were Fair Game.

*** “They were high on PCP” ***
Heard of them being strapped down en-route to a Hospital breaking free and escaping from a moving vehicle with 2 people trying to stop them... seems road rash does slow them up a bit but they do seem to be almost indestructible while they are still mobile, once they hit the ICU ... not so much
(ol Girl-friend worked ER and she had lots of weird wild stories)

I don’t blame you! Now I’m pissed and I was only 4 years old in ‘74. God bless you and I hope there was no permanent damage and you had a normal life and plenty of kids. Those guys should have been hanged.

“Cop thought he was reaching into the front of his waist band (what normal people call a belt) and in fear for his life shot him 15 times.”

If true, the cop screwed up by not cuffing him with hands behind his back and not frisking him before putting him in the vehicle.

And, if true, this isn’t murder, but the officer should be looking for a new career at the very least.

Being inside the police cruiser had nothing to do with him being killed. They would have killed him just as quick if he had been outside the cruiser.

So, how many posts are we up to on this shoot where somone has some potential justification?

I usually try to track the number of times some jack boot licker will chime in “But the perp could have.....”

I don’t think there is any police killing outside or Randy Weaver where someone on here hasn’t said stuff like “Maybe there were on PCP”, or “Maybe the officer thought there were drawing a gun (no gun found). Pretty simple, if the perp is supposedly under control of the officer and is subsequently killed, it’s murder (or extreme, Darwinian level incompetence on the part of whoever secured them).
