Ive been to Zoos all over this country and in Europe. I do not remember seeing this gorgeous pheasant in any Zoo. Fabulous plumage, LOVE the hair!

Growing up in western Pennsylvania, the ring-necked pheasant was a somewhat rare sight in the wild, and one could spend days hunting for them along woodlines and cornfields without seeing one. If you did see one, they were very wary, and would fly away in the blink of an eye.
When I went to Korea, I was first assigned to Yongsan Garrison which is in the middle of downtown Seoul. The first morning I was there, I stepped out of my BOQ and there was one pecking away in the dirt no more than 20 feet away, not seeming to care that I was even there.
