Absolutely!
There was a smaller location on the Wildwood boardwalk. It was my favorite place to go as the smell of the peanuts roasting was overwhelming. I would get some sort of chocolate covered ice cream on a stick that was dipped in the fresh roasted chopped nuts. Loved that place! Great pix...thanks!

When I was but a lad, there was a tiny, dusty little store in my town. Walking into that store was like stepping back into the 20s or 30s. It was a candy store (that was my main focus at the time) and a lunch counter. The phone booth in the back still had the old style pay phone with a separate ear piece. But most notable was they had a peanut roaster right in the store, and the front window was filled with peanuts, often as much as two feet deep. You could get freshly roasted peanuts in there. Pretty certain you are describing "The Nut Shop" in downtown Nashville's Arcade, a super-cool cut-through of shops dead center of the city. Also home of Manny's Pizza, who's nephew set up down the road with his recipes and got in Top Ten Pizza Places in America. Go to Manny's - he charges less for the same supreme quality. His pepperoni calzones take no prisoners.

Speaking of nostalgia you can’t beat Free Republic’s tendency to double post after all these years. But we still love you.

Seen on Facebook (or Twitter), didn’t have a screen grab -
Mr. Peanut just announced shortly before his demise that he had real information that will lead to Hillary’s arrest.

the front window was filled with peanuts, often as much as two feet deep. You could get freshly roasted peanuts in there. If you have a Five Guys burger restaurant near you, they are importing bags of peanuts in the shell from the south, and you can scoop up a paper container full while you are waiting for your burger. I think Texas Roadhouse does that, too. Neither offers fresh roasted, but it's still fun and it's free with your meal.

I had a great caesura in my Jersey Shore experiences. We went to Atlantic City when I was a very little kid; but then my dad got a thing about golfing in the Carolinas and we started going there for the rest of my time at home. Went away to college and worked every summer. Had to wait until I was in my 20s to start going back downashore in Jersey. Somehow my memories of those years did not revolve as much around food...

When I was a child I saw a person dressed as Mr. Peanut in the local Bruno’s grocery store. I don’t know why, but he scared me to death. I ran and hid behind my Mom.

Somehow my memories of those years did not revolve as much around food... Well yeah...my food memories are as a kid. Once I started going there on my own, food was not the focus...although munchies were.
GOD protected me from so much that it is almost indescribable.

We were in DC and drove down to Yorktown/ Williamsburg/ Jamestown. I like to find local places to eat when traveling. I found that Virginia Diner has been recognized by Food Network. We took the car ferry across the James a river and about 30 miles due west. Wakefield,
