Not much seemed solemn or prayerful about Nancy Pelosi's appearance on "Real Time with Bill Maher" on Friday night.
In Maher's return from a holiday hiatus, the House speaker spoke gleefully about her colleagues impeaching President Trump and doubled down on her Russian-charged attacks against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
After Maher pointed out that Pelosi was initially "rather reluctant" to move forward with impeachment and waited until "it was inevitable," the California Democrat responded that Trump simply gave his critics in the House "no choice" in the matter.
"The president was self-impeaching almost every single day," Pelosi said.
"There are some people who have actually said that he wanted to be impeached," Maher then observed. "Just for the record, being impeached is a bad thing, right?"
"And you're impeached forever," Pelosi replied with a big grin on her face, sparking applause from the audience. "No matter what the Senate does, that can never be erased."
The HBO star later offered Pelosi a chance to speak directly to the president -- on the off chance that Trump was watching the show.

She will probably keep babbling that to the end as she is put in a straitjacket.
Does Ms. Pelosi realize she and her son will be scrutinized forever. Her son’s Ukrainian business is being closely examined presently and he isn’t squeaky clean.
And she will be known as the political hack that destroyed the house as an institution.
Hopefully she will also be known as the only person to lose the house twice.
Nancy now has the distinction of being the first person to abuse impeachment for political reasons (which had been well warned about by the Founding Fathers) and she will be known FOREVER to have disgraced the process only because she couldn’t beat Trump in an election. Her name and a commemorative pen set will go down in infamy with Tokyo Rose and Ethel Rosenberg.

So, Trump should be cleared by the Senate before the State of the Union address. Nancy gets a front-row seat for that. Probably have the same seat in 2021. She oughta pickle herself pretty good in the interim.

Actually, the senate should dismiss this partisan impeachment on constitutional grounds, throw it out (there is no underlying crime), and censure the house for false prosecution.
