It is unwise to view the event in traditional legal terms. Relevance in this case is what a majority of the Senate decides, and that cannot be overruled by the CJ.
First issue IMO is why the D House is wasting the nation's valuable time and money by launching an obviously defective impeachment; i.e., what is the motivation for such a dramatically improper act? The nation has a right to know the answer and the opposing political party has an obligation to ask it.
Secondly, with a clear finding of multiple criminal acts by various officials and others behind the impeachment, what action is available to the Senate?
(Closing arguments would likely point out that impeachment is solely a political matter and strongly urge the appropriate offices address the matter.)
3. assembling this 'Dream Team' of lawyers for the Senate Trial is like assembling 12 armored divisions with 2000 tanks to kill a mosquito.

Don’t overlook the fact that impeachment is also about Dems taking the Senate. If not this year then in 2022 when the Senate map is very unfavorable to the GOP.
All I know with certainty is that we are witnessing the biggest criminal conspiracy in mankind’s history and it only continues to grow.
I have little money but I would offer it all to get one minute with President Trump to ask why he didn’t find an Attorney General to bring us the heads of EVERYONE involved and eradicate this cancer. Because Trump will be gone one day. And I fear what the cancer will look like if it is one day back in power and is free to fully metastasize.

Don’t expect a reply. The sunshine pumping “Trust Sessions, the Dems are bluffing on impeachment, etc.” nonsense has done far more damage to Trump and the MAGA agenda than anything else. It gave the GOP all the top cover from the base they needed to obstruct the MAGA agenda, support the Mueller Coup and ignore an ongoing CIA backed coup raging in the executive branch. You do realize the Japanese military and civilians were determined to fight to the last person when the allied invasion of Japan came?
Every civilian was expected to sell their lives in order to defend the homeland. School children were practicing with spears and bamboo staffs.
Truman approved the use of the two existing bombs because he had seen the estimates of allied casualties in the case of invasion. It was estimated that millions of casualties would result from direct invasion. More casualties than had been suffered in Europe and the Pacific, combined.
Even after Fat Man and Little Boy were dropped the consensus amongst the Japanese advisors to the Emporer were to keep fighting. Fortunately a small group of civilian advisors appealed to the Emporer and he overruled the military and ordered the surrender.
Only the direct intervention of Emporer Hirohito ended the war without another ocean of blood being spilt.
