It was nice winning another superbowl with Brady since getting rid of him but they let go of a potentially great starter for the next 15 years.
They say the backup right now is pretty good.

I have heard that Brady wanted the money that he had given up over the years so they could hire new talent and stay under the salary cap, and they said no..............
Jimmy G was on the last year of his contract. You cannot have two QBs on your team getting that money. They traded him, saved some money and got some draft picks. No one in NE begrudges Jimmy doing well. He was a great backup and it’s nice to see him winning.
The Rams would sell a ton of tickets to help pay down the debt on the new stadium by getting rid of Jared Goof and getting Brady. That’s what they did with the slow and worn out Clay Matthews. (USC Alum)
