In 100 days exactly, we will strike again. On April 22, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, young people and adults across the United States will once again take to the streets to demand climate action. Earth Day will launch three consecutive days of massive strikes, fulfilling our promise to take the climate strike movement beyond what we achieved on September 20.
Inaction is not an option. This has been the hottest decade on record and last year was the second hottest ever. Since the bushfire season began in November, fires in Australia have killed 25 people, wiped out over a billion animals, and blanketed cities across the country with historic levels of air pollution. Since 2020 began, thirteen days ago, floods in Indonesia have killed more than 66 people and displaced 400,000 more. These are the signals of climate change the crisis is here.
We have had enough of the inaction of government and business leaders. Now is our time to come together and be unified in our demand for change. On September 20, 2019, over 650,000 people across the United States, and 4 million worldwide, participated in the largest youth-led climate mobilization the world has ever seen. Over 1,300 locations across the country left school and work, with NYC and Boston school districts permitting students to be excused from school to attend, and hundreds of businesses publicly supporting us.

That is exactly why I reacted that way. I’m retired, so I can’t strike. I can only do the next best thing.

So off the air/cable and “zero” mmmmteevee production for 72 hours? IF they really cared they would shut down forever.
All the watermelons should kill themselves if they are true believers.
Lucky for them that April 22 falls on a Wednesday, a school day, and this gives the little kiddies a reason to skip school.
As for the older participants, they look to score some good weed at the event.
Everyone else there will be media helping to promote their agenda.
From the article, 2nd paragraph: “Inaction is not an option.”
I thought inaction was the very essence of a strike.

No thanks, the commies have killed too many of their own people.
I’ll turn on my energy-sucking vacuum tube TV to not watch MTV, which I haven’t done since Beavis and Butthead headed off to medical school.
I plan on taking my 67 GTO out for a fast bout of criminal behavior to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
I predict that some businesses will close because the millennial know nothings minding the shop don’t show.
Like with “day without an (illegal) immigrant”, we had the local Nathan’s Hotdog/Arthur Treachers close because everyone left “in solidarity.”
Let me think about it.......Nah. I’m planning on putting some serious miles on my Indian and spewing as many hydrocarbons as possible into the atmosphere.
I will also eat some bean burritos (NOT Taco Bell) and adding some choice methane to the mix.
Nice. She was a bit of a skank though. Not that I am above all that...
