Long anticipated, the Colt Python relaunch has finally come and looks well worth the wait.
How Has The 2020 Version Of The Colt Python Been Enhanced:
More consistent trigger pull shot to shot
Stronger stainless steel construction
Beefed-up frame above the cylinder
Hex-screw attached user-replaceable front sight
Recessed target crown on a one-piece barrel

LOL! Yeah...
Colt couldn’t compete in the modern AR market. May have taken advantage to score some virtue signaling points. They may be going Fudd, and hoping for military contracts.
Gee, I think Ill pass
Beautiful guns but unreliable with a bit of dirt and not strong enough for max loads
Ill stick with my GP100s and custom shop mod 19 that always work, arent finicky, and Id be hard pressed to blow them up while being more than accurate enough to consistently nail a paint can at 100+ yds.
Happy w my S&W 686 7rd. 4”
If they have good reception by the dealers, itll depend on their production rates. Back in the day the longest active dealers got dibs on their orders. I got a S&W model 27 in 1973 from a dealer in Monteville Connecticut. He only got 3 that year. A state trooper got on, a friend and I bought the other 2. They had a Colt Gatling gun at the show I went too. I wanted one but didnt have a cool 30k laying around. See if your dealer is going this year, maybe he can get on a distribution list.
Far too expensive and it does not come with a 5 inch barrel. nothing to see here
Good on you
Good on you
That’s my guess. They won’t be flooding the shelves, not this year.
Nothing wrong with a Python but a 686 is probably 85-90% the gun a Python is for half the money.
Watched a 2 1/2 blue never fired Python sell at auction for $5500 about three years ago.
It was from a private collection that had about 25 Pythons and that one brought more than any of them.
OK But 5” barrel has never been standard for anybody.
not since the early 80s.
Ive got a friend that collects the old snake guns. He has quite a corral of them. The last two Anacondas reached me to transfer after he spent close to $4k. I never got the fever. The Smiths were my Achilles. Colt management screwed the company. They should have kept the snake line and moved into striker fired like everyone else. They rode their government contracts right into the ground. A shame.
Really has been.
I have recently come to appreciate the model 19.
I had the chance to fondle a Korth 357 once and I was probably the most well made piece of machinery Ive seen. If I was gonna drop thousands on a revolver I think thats the way Id go
Damn thing only holds 6 bullets!
*bang*
(thought might be of interest to you)
“The Beast” is back... :^)
Korth makes an autoloader that’s even more ridiculously well made than their revolvers:

Never could get a feeling of connection with DA revolvers. Loved my SA Ruger Super Blackhawk. The Super Redhawk, meh.
That crunch and click just was the pits for accuracy. I suppost those little snubby things have a place, but I remain a semi-auto guy.
