To the men who love Little Women: Hello! You are not alone. There are many of you, and you have all been emailing me to confess, as if it were a shameful secret, your deep affection for a 150-year-old story about four girls growing up in Civil War-era Massachusetts, making currant jam and accidentally burning their dresses in the fireplace.
(Excerpt) Read more at washingtonpost.com ...
Im not afraid of seeing it. I just dont care. It clearly wasnt written for people like me, Ill go see movies that were.
Probably make a good series.
Read it as a kid. I liked the historical aspects.
My Mother in law, wife and daughter went to see this.
They all hated it.
Disclaimer - my mother in law is died in thd wool Massachusetts liberal Democrat.
There was a recent series of War and Peace I believe produced by the BBC. Natasha was played by Lily James.
Why would I go see any of the Crap Hollywierd puts out?
“Men who love “Little Women”?”
There is no such thing.
Dear Monica. I read that book 45+ years ago.
And, no, I have no interest in seeing it.
Little historical footnote to this. Louisa May Alcott did some promotional work after the book came out, traveling, speaking, stuff like that. Coming from a family mired in genteel poverty, she only had one dress appropriate to such occasions. Women, being the kindler, gentler sex, were soon criticizing her for her lack of wardrobe, causing her some distress. Men, the brutes, couldn't have cared less about what she wore.
Maybe some non binary persons...
“afraid to”...?
Since when is not caring to see what looks like an incredible snooze-fest a sign of fear?
***Little Women and all of the George Elliot drek were the leading non-sellers.**
These are the type of books they forced on us in High School. I HATED them. I was into action and adventure books such as Beau Geste trilogy, Beat to Quarters trilogy, Manila Galleon, The Iliad, Odyssey, Captain Blood trilogy. H.G. Wells, H.P. Lovecraft, Jules Verne and such.
Even today I love to read but have an aversion to horrid English novels.
Just finished War and Peace, getting ready to read Suetonius’ Lives of the Caesars and the collected works of Ambrose Bierce.
Read it many years ago. Thanked God I was born a male.
Watch “Little Women”? Not while “Wonder Woman” is out there.
She has a spell on me. :-)
Did Monica watch Anna?
I did yesterday, same day my wife & daughter saw Little Women.
If Monica afraid to see Anna?
Who's she talking to ? Joe Biden?
I’ve had no interest in seeing the movie.
I read the book when I was a kid, and was enthralled. It was one of those books that one reads when young, and hates for it to end, because you’ve become enamored of the characters and didn’t want to leave them.
The next book I read that made me feel the same way was ‘Gone With the Wind’.
But the only childhood books that I remember and really want to RE-read, are the ‘Mushroom Planet’ books by Eleanor Cameron:

https://peyre.x10.mx/MushroomPlanet/index.htm
“The Russian movie version of 1966 follows the book very well, but still had to leave out lots as the movie is 8 hours, and if they had filmed the entire book it would have been 80 hours.”
That’s why I love the miniseries. It’s the only way you can do justice to many books.
And if she was positioned properly. Pigs are such men LOL.
Back to the original subject at hand. The lefty fems always accuse us of being "afraid" if we don't pander to their tripe. Men are not allowed a difference in taste because that's proof we are bigoted and afraid.
Honestly, they just think (think? LOL they certainly don't reason) that a pecker is proof of a genetic defect. I really think that it's not at all complicated. Feminists (there's an oxymoron for ya) simply are consumed with an illogical antipathy for the male sex. NOT "gender". Words have gender, people have a sex - only one of two.
