Our capacity for growth and the regenerative nature of our cells and tissues becomes progressively less with age, particularly in tissues such as our skin and those that form our joints.
There are, however, nutritional supplements that may help us combat these challenges. The trace element boron, cartilage-derived proteoglycans and collagen, and a bioavailable format of curcumin are four tools which all may play important roles in keeping our bodies healthy and active with increasing age.
Boron
Boron has considerable importance for the health of our bones.
Lower serum levels of boron have been shown in individuals with both rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA). Low boron levels were correlated with higher levels of rheumatoid factor (RF), the antibody that causes destruction of the joints in RA, and in OA, were correlated with disease duration and severity.
Proteoglycans and Collagen
Proteoglycans and collagen are essential to the health of the joints. Because the chondrocytes within the cartilage have minimal ability to replicate and decline in their ability to synthesize these molecules as we age, we see diminished articular tissue integrity with aging.
Supplementation with proteoglycans and/or collagen has been shown independently and in combination to support joint health.
Salmon nasal cartilage, providing both 40% undenatured type II collagen and 30% proteoglycans, taken daily at a dosage of 50 mg for four weeks significantly improved pain scores in healthy subjects experiencing rigidity of the knee compared to placebo, with more significant improvements being seen than the third group receiving 1500 mg of glucosamine hydrochloride daily.
Curcumin
The curcumin formulation that was found to be best utilises a molecular dispersion process to dissolve a highly purified powder consisting of at least 95% curcuminoids in a water-soluble base, followed by the addition of antioxidants to protect the curcumin from degradation.

I hope you can get a replacement for the area with the necrosis.
Steroid injections can cause that, if that was part of it.

Where do you get your Borax? All we can find is 20 mule team borax.
Too late for that. By the time they knew I had it I was in the hospital for 2.5 days screaming before they took me to surgery. All they could do was suction out the blood and bone fragments. I had 5 right hip surgeries within 11.5 months and more than 20 closed hip reductions and one open reduction. The last hip surgery was 8 months ago and I still don’t feel safe.
No one seemed to think about the fact that my hips don’t move because of everything being fused during scoliosis surgery 10 years ago. That was successful with no complications.
I was scheduled to have a hip replacement one week before my hip died because they thought I had arthritis. Steroids were the cause. Both surgeons told me so.
I think I’ll pass on eating Borax and stick to a diet high in fried food to keep my joints lubricated.
I've had enough steroids for a 500 year lifetime. I also use a steroid inhaler and it does count to the total steroid count. Also drinking distilled water for many years probably hasn't helped.

Thought of taking Boron for my bad back, but in checking for side effects, the word is that if you have kidney disease (I have) don't take it as they have a hard time getting rid of Boron. Just damn!
That’s what I use. 20 Mule Team straight from the laundry aisle. I put 1/4 cup in a 1.5 litre jug, fill that up with water, and then use that as my concentrate. It’s easier to dissolve if you put a little hot water in the bottom first, then fill with cold. From their I put a couple tablespoons into my daily lemon water, which is about a quart or so. I’ve been doing this since April, and am only halfway through the box of borax. $5.00 goes a long way!
Please get second opinions. Your current doctors dont seem quite right.

I just squeeze a half a lemon into my water, leave the half in the water and go about my day! Sometimes I’ll squeeze a whole lemon. Start with just a tablespoon of the concentrate at first, and build up. You may smell it in your urine at first, but that’s just your body getting rid of what it doesn’t need.

I have bad arthritis in my back and nothing helps.
A heat pad works on the arthritis but doesn’t on my lower which is an injury.
My wife gets the hot flashes and I told her and she read your post.
So we are both hopefully going to benefit from this!
