Great ad for Chevy: No load too large or small, Chevy Trucks!

I'm sure some can come up with better ad lines for Chevy trucks carrying a ring and finger for a funeral.

"uber lefty"

Had to check that out since I saw him make a guest appearance at a Kid Rock concert who is definitely not a leftist.

Found this about Seger.

Politics:
When it comes to the race for U.S. President, on the Democratic side Seger says Hillary Clinton is his favorite candidate, but he really likes a lot of what Bernie Sanders has to say. On the Republican side, Seger says he believes Donald Trump will eventually drop out. He also says "Jeb Bush is my favorite. I think he's the smartest of the Bush brothers."

You were 100% correct.

**I HATED the ones where Bob Seger’s “Like A Rock” was sung in the background. His voice is like fingernails on the chalkboard, AND he’s an uber lefty worthy of being despised. I am sure I am not the only one who feels that way on one or both counts.**

The wife and I don’t despise him (he isn’t a murderer) just his politics, but agree that his voice always was lousy. She likes a manly voice that sounds great. She’s believes that he only made it because of his sinful lifestyle songs, and that’s what the world likes: sin. He mostly portrayed women as nothing more than sex objects.

And the knucklehead apparently doesn’t have clue about literally ‘riding against the wind’. I’ve herded cattle on foot, and horseback, in really cold weather, and was grateful if the wind was at my back. I’m sure the horse and cattle preferred a tailwind as well.

“ I have a 2014 Hemi.”

Actually, it’s not a Hemi. The only full size pickup with a true Hemi is the Tundra. It you compare the drawings you’ll see that there’s not much difference between the Ram and GM V-8’s....

He certainly should have been ticketed. Even if his truck had an air compressor system rigged to operate the trailer brakes (that tank doesn’t look like a 150 psi pressure tank), that little truck wouldn’t have near enough weight, footprint, and braking to stop if that trailer’s brakes fail. Even if it was empty.

Don't count on me to accompany you. Seger is one of my favorite rock artists. His voice is real and it fits his blue collar attitude. You're an entertainer. As long as you spare me your politics, just shut up and sing.

'woke last night to the sound of thunder....

Yeah. It’s an ‘improved Hemi’. The 60s 426 and the 50s various Chrysler/DeSoto true hemis were great engines but required much maintenance.
The only thing that concerns me is the longevity of the multiple displacement feature.

Nothing like a big high torque push rod engine to move great loads.

“ Nothing like a big high torque push rod engine to move great loads”.

No argument here. I bought a 2015 Silverado CC, 4x4, 6.2L/8 spd tranny so to tow my camper. And, I haven’t been disappointed. Tows like a dream. I considered the Ford 3.5L Teapot. It made plenty of HP and Torque but was Leary of it because in order to perform it was always turning and churning high rpm’s. Anyway, like the 6.2 Chevy. Don’t know how much longer big block V-8’s will continue to be offered though.

I like Chevy, Ford and well made vehicles regardless of brand. However, for the purpose of this thread I have a 1999 Chevy S10 V6 and 2018 Colorado Diesel Z71. My kids refer to the S10 as the end times vehicle because there are no tracking devices from the factory. I get 29.4 MPG with the diesel on the highway at 70 mph and better below. The S10 gets 14-18 depending. The 2018 Z71 has held its used vehicle value better than the gas engine counterparts. I would recommend the Colorado because it gets great mileage, and it can tow 7600 lbs vs. the gas V6 at 3200 towing weight.

FORD - First On Race Day, but sometimes Found On Road Dead.

Oh, yea in regards to Ford - the 2019/2020 Ranger has a transmission that was jointly developed with GM. I wanted the Ranger and was on the waiting list but the price was outrageous when they released them. That said, Ford Trucks are also very good. Just depends what you like. I grew up around old Dodge trucks, Ford’s and Chevy’s.

I really wanted a Toyota small pickup but driving through Richmond VA two years in February with light snow and ice I saw two of them flipped over within 500 feet of each other Northbound I-95 on a gentle curve in a 60 MPH Zone. That was it for my Toyota desires.

I cannot complain about the 3 high mileage GM vehicles I hve owned:

1965 Pontiac Catalina station wagon ONLY car I bought new & I special ordered it. Got it in Feb of 1965 & sold it to a guy in Sweden in 1996 or so. It had OVER 444,000 miles on it & ran just fine. He only worked on the exterior, where the lacquer was cracking on horizontal surfaces. The engine was freshened up once-—at 251,000 miles. I got mileage as high as 19 on open highway & I cannot even tell you how many miles I drove at 80-90 MPH. Towed more than one trailer, also thru those years.

I bought a 1979 Buick station wagon with a 403 Olds engine in August of 1981 with 55,000 miles on it. It now has 217,200 miles on it & it is my daily driver. I also towed a 2 horse trailer with the Buick.

In 1986, I bought a 1976 Chevy 1 ton dually truck with a 454 in it. I have put OVER 250,000 miles on that truck, mostly hauling horses on competitions all over the states of Calif-Oregon-Nevada-Utah-Arizona-Wisconsin-Wyoming-Idaho. Doesn’t get great mileage, but it hauls a 4 horse trailer without any issues. Won’t sell either one.

What I might pay in low mileage I save in registrations & insurance.

"I was going to ask how are relatively newer Chevy trucks getting in to Iran, a country under multiple economic sanctions?"

The funeral procession was in Iraq. The truck does bring up a good point though. What is the product made/created in Iraq/Iran/Syria/Russia that everyone is dying to have? Oh yeah, none because these are countries that only know how to produce misery.

If you need a truck, buy a Honda Ridgeline - made in Alabama by non-union American workers.

If you need a 'truck' so you look cool at the next bro-reunion at the frat party or FL-GA Line concert, buy a Ridgeline. If you actually need a truck to do truck things - get a Tundra - Made in Texas by non-union Texan workers.

“If you need a ‘truck’ so you look cool at the next bro-reunion...”

Thanks -NO!

My Ridgeline has been serving me well for 137,000 miles and is a very good truck with OUTSTANDING snow and ice performance due to it’s superior AWD system.

The Tundra is a great second choice, though.
