This is downright frightening: according to leftwing website Politico, progressive insiders and activists "are increasingly whispering about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez inheriting the movement one day -- and running for the White House with it behind her."
We on the right love to laugh at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC as she's also known. She's a fool. She favors policies that America can't even almost afford. She's so radically pro-open borders that she'll destroy the Democratic Party's chances of winning next year if she becomes one of its most vocal spokespeople.
However, there is a major problem: progressive activists and other kinds of leftwing radicals are starting to push her to play a more prominent role in national politics. In it, some (purposefully chosen) leftist activists and "insiders" are interviewed, all of whom say that AOC is the future of their movement -- and, they hope, of the Democratic Party.

She hasn't been in the ring yet, and hasn't had to trade blows politically. If she runs for higher political office, she will have to put forth ideas, and defend them. Warren is a lot more educated than her, and Warren has put forth ideas that have hurt her politically. AOCs ideas are even more radical than Warren's. I don't take anything or anyone that puts the US at risk lightly, but I do strongly believe that she is vulnerable, and likely at the peak of her political career.

I agree with all that. She will be around a while and is already having a major influence on the agenda of the Democrat Party.
Funny that you mention Hugh. He’s been on the radio more in my area. It has become immediately obvious to me that he’s not all that and a bag of chips, kinda like Drudge and his lame-o radio show.

I’m just the opposite - I would have zero problem with her running against Trump next year on the Dem Cowfart platform. In fact, I’d encourage it. Keep the nuttiness front and center, I say.

She’ll be hilarious in the debates. No amount of coaching would help her, in the same spirit that no amount of coaching would get a 6 year old ready for college baseball.

In a few years, her persona as a ‘young’ energetic ‘new thinking’ politician will reach it’s buy by date, and there will be younger Democrats who will supplant her. That’s inevitable. What remains to be seen is if the reaction to the Democrat lurch to the extreme, extreme left will be countered from within the party by those younger than her. I predict this will happen.
She is oddly attractive.
