This is downright frightening: according to leftwing website Politico, progressive insiders and activists "are increasingly whispering about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez inheriting the movement one day -- and running for the White House with it behind her."
We on the right love to laugh at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC as she's also known. She's a fool. She favors policies that America can't even almost afford. She's so radically pro-open borders that she'll destroy the Democratic Party's chances of winning next year if she becomes one of its most vocal spokespeople.
However, there is a major problem: progressive activists and other kinds of leftwing radicals are starting to push her to play a more prominent role in national politics. See this article at Politico.com for example. In it, some (purposefully chosen) leftist activists and "insiders" are interviewed, all of whom say that AOC is the future of their movement -- and, they hope, of the Democratic Party.

It's chicken vs egg. IMHO the Democrats were already running way left before AOC, and AOC is a product of that, not a cause. Sanders came reasonably close to winning the primary last time around. It doesn't get much more left than being an avowed socialist who honeymooned in the USSR, and his party embraced him.
With regards changing the agenda of the candidates, Sanders is running on the same platform as last time. Warren will say anything she thinks will work. Gabbard was a Bernie supporter, and hasn't changed her messaging. Bloomberg is still Bloomberg..

Wikipedia says she was born on October 13, 1989. That means that she would turn 35 during the 2024 campaign, and be 35 at swearing in-time in January, 2025.

As in the case of the Presidency, that age limit applies to the VP because the VP is only a heart beat away from the Presidency and we could otherwise result with a President under 35 therefore unable to serve. Don't know if she's going to face a primary challenge, but there were only 17,000 votes cast out of about 500,000 voters. Clearly they're not interested and clearly her support in her district is very thin and not very broad,
Bernie’s stillborn, he’s got support of about 14% of the DNC base, and that’s it... they will stick with him until he drops out or loses, but he’s hardly a threat to anyone or anything.. other than the DNC... He can’t win a national election, but him being in the race forces the part to keep pandering hard left.... Which is what he wants... to move the party further left...
AOC is no threat nationally as well.. hell she can only win in a district where they, according to Pelosi herself, would elect a ham sandwich if it had a d beside its name.

Don’t be surprised if come 2020, AOC’s election victory is 20 points lower than it was in 2018. She’ll still easily win, she’ll lose around 20 points of her margin or so at least compared to 18.

IMO we’re about 10 years away from brainwashed Millenial Socialists forming an operative voting majority. She may actually be able to win by the time she is eligible.

While that is true- the alternative- reelecting an extreme socialist liberal- should have been enough to ensure obama lost- but nope- the people came out in drives to re-vote for him- so they could git them sum of dat free obama money- independents went for obama - twice- because America wanted to ‘try somethin new’ to show how diverse they were- plain and simple- obama had no record to run on and the fact remains, the country was in such crap condition after his first term that by all rights, anyone should have tromped him politically in the polls- historically, no president got reelected a second term when everything was going so crappy economically- obama was as bad as Carter- yet the people came out in droves for him-
