A single click of her tongue was all it took to start a brawl in the middle of a supermarket in Clementi Mall.
Shoppers stumbled across an unusual scene on Saturday morning (Dec 21) after two women and a teen got into a fight.
Apparently unhappy that a woman had tutted at him for blocking her way, the 14-year-old boy turned around to spew a string of Hokkien expletives at her, Lianhe Wanbao reported.
His foul language and poor attitude also angered the woman's daughter who gave him a slap.
Already agitated, the slap only served to further incense the boy, causing him to surge towards the pair and try to hit them.
In an attempt at mediation, a middle-aged man who happened to pass by tried to step between both parties. Instead, the boy turned his attack towards him.
Despite being shoved at over 10 times, the man continued to shield the women by repeatedly holding the teen back whenever he pushed forward, all whilst persuading him to stop.
In one of the videos a witness shared with the newspaper, the boy nearly succeeded in breaking past the man, only to be pushed away by yet another male passer-by. (snip)
Police arrived on the scene soon after the altercation, a witness told the Chinese evening daily.(snip)
The teenager has since been taken to the National University Hospital for treatment while investigations are ongoing.

I’m using the term “teen” journalistically.
The stylebook used to be specific... “negro youths.”
But now the common pejorative is teens.
I didnt know that China has an Amish population.
“Like saying ‘excuse me,’ or ‘pardon me’ like a decent human being wouldve killed her?”
Perhaps it would have. More than likely, at a minimum, it would have resulted in a vicious beating by the thug.
The thug is self-centered, ego-centric and prone to violence for any expression of what he feels is a ‘dis.’ Therefore, I bet the thug would view the “excuse me” as a challenge by a weak person. (”How dare she tell me to move!”).
Be it an “excuse me” or a ‘tut,’ the result would probably be the same—a vicious beating by a thug on his way to an impulsive killing.
You write: “Dont click your tongue at me b***h”
Profane victim blaming? Really?
Goodness, so if she ‘tut’s you that is sufficient cause for you to attack her? That sort of response is not honorable or manly.
Of course, IMHO others may differ.
Well stated.
Post 43.
SR is provably an unstable and unpleasant person, for sure. Very volatile.
Once he is down a couple kidneys, part of his liver and his corneas, hell calm down quite a bit!
Vivid imagination you have there, but according to the story the physical violence was started by a girl who was with the woman who tutted the boy. It was all verbal prior to that. You spin it anyway you want, but the woman was disrespectful.
Another psychoanalyst. I am actually against the use of physical violence in any case except for immediate self-defense. Thats why I correctly pointed out that the physical violence was initiated not buy the boy, but by a girl that was accompanying rude woman. Now from the story, which is all we have to go on, it appears that everyone involved got way too agitated and out of control.
At least there are still real men in Singapore. Guessing the “hospital” where the kid went is a treatment center.
Yesterday, at the grocery store, apparently I was too slow picking up some cheese for the dude behind me in a handicap scooter. Every time he saw me, he’d stop in the middle of the aisle. I never tutted at him or punched him or cursed him a blue streak but ignored him and went down other aisles. Sorry, I ain’t got time for dat.
HEB Grocery Rant #59,394 - Having stuffed peppers today to quickly use the 4 old wrinkled bell peppers I purchased which were the better ones of the 9 in the bin. Had to pick through the yellow squash to find the least old spotted bruised ones so hope they’ll last for later in the week. Bought the last sack of potatoes. Mushrooms were old and brown, too. As usual, had to ask the back for cream. Had to dig through the canned tomatoes (woo hoo, they never have them) to find some that weren’t dented and rusted out on the bottoms. And they got new buggies that don’t hold as much as the older ones so was unable to finish out my list. Yeah, I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck, smaller buggies mean you have to come back and maybe buy more.
I’m with Hulka and Mrs. Don-o. If you are in someone’s way and all they did was make a “tsk” sound at you, and you flip out, and respond with extremely abusive language, there is something wrong with you.
Chinese people are just rude she could not say “excuse me”?
Sounds like the kid has a future in the Party.
Might have been better if she had tsked instead of tutted.
I usually say “Oh! Pardon meeeeee! I forgot just how important you are.”
Thank you.
Now it makes sense.
That’s true...one man’s tsk is another man’s tutt!
