The Rev. Franklin Graham, a staunch Trump supporter and the son of the magazines founder, the late Rev. Billy Graham, leaped to Trumps defense, telling The Washington Post that (my father) wouldve been very embarrassed that the magazine he started would call for something like this when there are no crimes committed.
Less than 48 hours later, Trumps reelection campaign announced a new Evangelicals for Trump coalition, launching at a Miami rally in early January.
But here in suburban Milwaukee, where Trump narrowly edged out Clinton in 2016 and where it is crucial he maintain or build support heading into 2020, there was no indication the viral editorial had changed hearts or minds or even been read at all.
After Sunday services, at least a half-dozen Elmbrook churchgoers said they didnt know anything about the Christianity Today piece. A few others said they had heard about it but hadnt actually read it.
Even those who knew what it said were quick to dismiss its significance.

I accepted Christ when I was 10 years old and to this day, I don't believe I've ever read Christianity Today. Nothing against those whom enjoy that publication; it might be quite a blessing to read something not "processed" by the MSM. I do wonder if the Dems think a person cannot claim to be an evangelical Christian unless they subscribe to and or read that publication. Do Dems (mistakenly) believe the "Good Book" we honor is actually a magazine? ;)
Yeah, its like they are not only clueless about Evangelicals, but when they go to fill in the gaps in their knowledge they don’t seem able to employ any common sense. The presumption that Evangelicals follow some magazine called “Christianity Today” as some kind of authority of their political viewpoint is absurd. Who the heck even reads magazines these days?
I can’t keep track of the controversies going on with this impeachment.
It’s like a soap opera without all the sex and good looking people :)
I’m not addressing this issue per se at all, but the whole thing and all the drama surrounding it have become a circus.
And D’s are clowns so it works out perfect.
As for this article, all Christians know which book has ALL of the answers.
A bad article or, in my case, an insane pope doesn’t reflect the masses who worship.
Merry Christmas Everybody.
No one can cite the subscription levels of Christianity Today, but I seriously doubt that it does more than 200,000 copies per month.
I also noticed that no one has gone back over the past year or two....to note ‘hints’ in their articles of a leftist trail. I doubt if this was the first hint.
Everyone knows that Evangelicals are a pro Trump by a YUGE percentage.
I think the only group that votes for an R percentage-wise like minorities vote for a D
And with such an outspoken Christian as President, it’s even higher this time around..
Like I said, just the left trying to create a circus and trouble where there is none
An Evangelical Christian friend on this board informed me around 2001 that Christianity Today is nothing but commie propaganda.
The one publication I read is the Bible when I wonder what Christians should do. I’ve never read Christianity Today and now for sure never will. It’s funny that the WP would put so much stock in the magazine. But that’s the lens these secularists use. They don’t understand Christians at all. They assume that we are monolithic and obey leaders in some sort of command/control fashion. After all, all liberals are mindless goosesteppers and assume the same charateristics in everyone else.
“Christianity Today” does NOT represent Christianity or Christians as a whole. It represents less than 1% of US Christians, but because it has the name “Christianity” the MSM and DNC use that to their advantage.
Get over it, people. “Christianity Today” is nothing more than n uber leftist publication hiding in sheeps clothing.
If you are going to take their word as the authority of Christian thought, then you must take the Koran as the authority of Muslim thought. Thus, every Christian is a liberal douchebag and every Muslim is a terrorist.
I used to subscribe, before I knew any better. At best, they are Rick Warren/seeker Christian. At worst, socialist.
There seems to be a general misdirection in much of Christianity today. We have a Pope who blesses pagan idols and only talks about politics and the environment, and turns a blind eye to homosexual priests who molest children. Entire denominations are replacing religious devotion and traditional morality with political correctness and worldly trends. You have to be careful who you listen to these days.
Do Dems (mistakenly) believe the "Good Book" we honor is actually a magazine? ;)
And there are figures of Gods favor and choosing in the Bible who make Trump look like a saint by comparison.
I’ve read it in the past.
Hey dingdongs at the WP, what part of that phone call is immoral? The editorial asserted that it was but provided no evidence. I’ve read the transcript. It’s NOT immoral.
I’m a core leader with a newer national Christian character development organization for boys. I was speaking with another core leader the other day about how many church leaders don’t know about us. I reminded him that outside the Bible, which makes no mention of our organization, there is no sort of national information clearinghouse for all church leaders to read.
Christianity Today certainly isn’t one of them. I honestly think the only place I’ve ever seen that magazine might be at the library, certainly not in the homes of all evangelical believers.
