Some men don't have much if any chest hair. My wife developed the serious hots for me while dating, when she first saw my chest hair.
There's also a scene in the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice where it is explained that the Japanese girls are SO attracted to Bond on account of his chest hair.

I have it on good authority that this cowboy burned off all his chest hair when rescuing a damsel from a runaway wagon. He got dragged behind it. The cactus and rocks tore off his coat and shirt and eventually his hair.
The rocks couldn't pierce his iron-like skin.
