An announcement from the Poynter Institute naming NBCs Chuck Todd the media personality of the year while calling his Meet the Press the gold standard was met with derision and laughter on the internet which has long hammered the NBC host for his failures as well as his habit of not asking follow-up questions.
According to Poynter which describes its mission as helping journalists sharpen skills and elevate storytelling throughout their careers Todds excellent interview skills and accessible delivery make him THE voice when it comes to news in these politically divided times.
Not everyone agreed with that assessment by Poynters Tom Jones.
Or as one commenter on Twitter succinctly put it: Christ. Chuck Todd is horrible.
You can see a sampling of commentary on Chuck Todds gold standard journalism skills below:

Art Martin @gartmartin9 Replying to @NBCNewsPR and 3 others And with that announcement, Poynter has just destroyed its credibility completely. Congrats!
AndyMatter @AndyMatter Replying to @NBCNewsPR and 3 others His truly has been a career unmarred by competence.
BgMac @bgmacneill Replying to @NBCNewsPR and 3 others @chucktodd cant interview his way out of a wet paper bag folks - he has zero critical thinking skills EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Foglandia @BabiesFree Replying to @NBCNewsPR and 4 others You cannot be serious. He's a shill. His interview skills are those of a flea and he's destroying our democracy. I will never watch any show he is on. He's dangerous and you are as well for enabling this monster.

Monty Boa @MontyBoa99 Replying to @NBCNewsPR and 3 others Oh, please. Chuck Todd can't even start and finish a question in a single, complete, coherent sentence. Some of his questions are just so much gibberish that he has to rephrase them 2 or 3 times.
Put a bag on his head and just listen. As an interviewer, he's appalling.
1:37 PM - Dec 20, 2019
C.Mon @ClaireeMonroe Replying to @NBCNewsPR and 3 others I guess we're just all giving up.

by Tom Jones
Media personality of the year (CHUCKIE)
Most polarizing media figure
Love him or loathe him, you cannot ignore the force that is Fox News Sean Hannity...
Three journalists who deserve special mention
2.The New York Times Maggie Haberman for her insightful coverage of President Trump...
Best newspaper
A tie between The New York Times and The Washington Post. Both papers get beat up from all sides, mostly for either being too hard or too soft (in readers opinions) on President Trump...

Maybe it is the bangs...
Chuck Todd continuously looks away from the camera...Moves his head and eyes away...
My dad told anyone who won’t look you in the eyes is a damned liar....
26 Apr 2018: TV ad in Florida said PolitiFact is funded by George Soros, but thats misleading
By Amy Sherman
PolitiFacts funding structure
The ads say that Soros funds PolitiFact. Thats inaccurate.
PolitiFact is a nonpartisan fact-checking website initially launched by the Tampa Bay Times in 2007. In 2018, PolitiFacts direct ownership was transferred to The Poynter Institute for Media Studies, a nonprofit journalism training institution that is also the owner of the (Tampa Bay) Times...
The Poynter press release cited by the National Liberty Federation announced $1.3 million in grants to another Poynter division, the International Fact-Checking Network...
The grants came from the Omidyar Network and Open Society Foundations.
Since its launch in 2015, the network has received funding from the following organizations: Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, the Duke Reporters Lab, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google, the National Endowment for Democracy, the Omidyar Network, Open Society Foundations and the Park Foundation...
Soros is a Hungarian-born hedge fund manager who has supported President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and criticized Trump...
The Open Society grant was made to Poynter expressly to support the IFCN before PolitiFact moved to Poynter. Whats more, though both are under the administrative umbrella of Poynter PolitiFact and the IFCN have separate missions, separate staffs and maintain separate budgets and revenue sources.

Spit.
About as valid as Greta as person of the year. Meaningless pandering of their own.
Carries about as much weight as President Trump being impeached.
Best goatee for sure. The Poynter Institute is a sketchy outfit. It may just be a non-profit set up for tax purposes to publish a Florida newspaper.
We call him Chuck Tard in our house.
I would vote for Greg Gutfield....because I watching him right now.
Describes Trump well
I think he called Trump the orange Godzilla?
Hes a funny guy.
I need to laugh.
