FDA approves first-ever vaccine for prevention of Ebola virus

The US Food and Drug administration has approved for the first time in the United States a vaccine for the prevention of the deadly Ebola virus, the agency announced Thursday.

The vaccine, Ervebo, was developed by Merck and protects against Ebola virus disease (EVD) caused by Zaire ebolavirus in people 18 and older, the FDA said in a statement.

Cases of EVD in the US are very rare and have generally occurred when people already infected with the virus have traveled into the country or when health care workers have become infected treating those sickened by EVD.

"While the risk of Ebola virus disease in the U.S. remains low, the U.S. government remains deeply committed to fighting devastating Ebola outbreaks in Africa, including the current outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo," Anna Abram, FDA Deputy Commissioner for Policy, Legislation, and International Affairs, said in a press release.

Secretary of Health and Human Services, Alex Azar, called the new vaccine "a triumph of American global health leadership."

The Zaire strain of the Ebola virus has caused more than 2,000 deaths in the current outbreak in the eastern DRC, and more than 11,000 deaths during an outbreak in 2014 in West Africa.

This article makes no mention of whether this vaccine is being used in Africa, nor what the side effects are, if any.

While the risk of Ebola virus disease in the U.S. remains low ...
Low? Has there ever been a case of Ebola in the US?
The vaccine was developed by Merck here in the US, but will be used primarily in Africa and other "swell places" in the world.
Who's going to re-pay Merck for their development and production costs? Hmmmm ....

In Africa 30 years ago and before Africans ran to the U.N. trucks for food and medicine. Today they run from the trucks. Why people might ask?

This is because a decade later HIV was huge in Sub Saharan Africa. Many Africans now believe the U.N that provided the food and medicine intentionally tainted their medicine with live HIV and cancer viruses. Many believe it was souped up in a lab ,and then tested on the population. Sort of like the Tuskegee Experiment on steroids. It would not surprise me if this was the case given the U.N. push for depopulation.

I am not against vaccines, but take them at your own risk. Please educate yourself. If you take a vaccine, be sure to ask for the little insert that comes with the vaccine. I am not talking about what the doctor or pharmacy gives you. Get the actual insert that comes with the vaccine when shipped. All of them have to do it by law for legal purposes. If they tell you they do not have it, then don’t take it. Think I am full of crap then look at this web site. This is not so secret settlement court for those injured by big pharma and vaccines.

Here is a link for the vaccine compensation.

"While the risk of Ebola virus disease in the U.S. remains low

All it takes is one hopping a plane to the US or crossing its border. Obamy tried his hardest to raise the number of US cases.

Will the vaccine work on African Swine Fever (Reston Ebola)?
It would really save the pork industry.

Good news for a change.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Yes. Saint obama the divine imported a few active infection patients.

I surmise he was deeply saddened when it didn't spread.

I think his plan was to bring more of the Ebola-infected folks to this country to help spread it, but wiser heads prevailed. The UN can keep their diseases.

Thanks for the article.
