German Chancellor Angela Merkel's reaction to the U.S. possible sanctions on the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is a "clear declaration of war" on U.S. President Donald Trump, according to Bild newspaper.
Previously, she noted that Germany was opposed to U.S. extraterritorial sanctions and will "hold very decisive talks" on the issue of U.S. sanctions against Nord Stream-2.
According to Bild, Merkel's response to the Congress decision on sanctions was "clear". It was "a clear declaration of war" on Trump. The Chancellor "will not tolerate" the United States "continuing to undermine the gas pipeline project, which is backed by her," the newspaper wrote.
At the same time, the article stressed confidence that the construction of the Nord Stream-2 cannot be contained and the project will be completed soon.

Time to withdraw all US forces from Germany.
Each Euro of gas purchase, goes into the pockets of Russian Oligarchs and pays for Russian fighters, tanks and nuclear missiles. Why would any idiot continue to hype up or support NATO continue existing?
I thought Sally Field said if women ran the world, there’d be no wars ?
according to Bild newspaper.Bild is a tabloid.
However what you are looking at here is a bad translation from Russia.
The original Bild headline and story talks about a "klare Kampfansage". Kampf means fight, war would be Krieg.
Add her big thing is Merkel see no options other than leading talks.
But don't let me stop a good hate.
Enjoy your fake news from Putin.
Next time it won’t be as pretty as the 1940s.
Time to withdraw all US forces from Germany.

Well then, this bit of Russian exaggeration achieved its desired impact with your thinking.
I didn’t see Bild article in English but generally you are right.
Merkel is not going to attack our troops. not a chance
That’s fine.
Enjoy your weekend!
No, just think that after 75 years, it would be OK to eliminate the expense of defending Germany. Obviously Russia can’t be a threat to Germany anymore, if the Germans are basing their future national energy policy on peaceful coexistence with Russia. If Merkel wants to chart a new course then let her. Fahrvergnügen all around. After all she is the elected socialist leader of Germany. What could go wrong?
Looks like NATO is going to have to change its war plans to defend the pipeline of Russian gas coming through the Baltics into Germany
Easy peasy
Of course that assumes Russia and Germany would be opposing each other - not allied
Gee, I thought Trump was Putin’s puppet!
What is curious about this is that the environmentalists should have raised a massive amount of confrontation over hurting the Baltic, and they did virtually nothing.
Greta can see this pipeline from her front yard.
Has she confronted Merkel?
Like a tragic hero, Angela Merkel brought about the ruin of everything she sought to build.
Is there a reason we’re still protecting a foreign country and continent?
And, if there is a reason cannot the same goals be achieved by working countries that would actually welcome us like Hungary, Poland and a few others?
Eastern European countries are welfare states paid by Germany. They would be pleased to have one more sugar daddy though. But they would be allies for as long as they are happy with your paycheck.
Merkel is a Communist disguised as a german Burgher socialist.
She seeks detente with Russia ,which is under Putin, an expansionist power bent on re-establishing the USSR.Russia is chiseling aqay at Europe.
Merkel wants the sole supply of Europe’s energy to be Russia.
Nord Stream-2 should be sanctioned.Merkel seems to be shrugging off NATO as a unified strategic alliance.
President Trump is quite right.
Seems the Eastern Euro countries are to break the chains...time will tell.
